Big boost maybe who knows. I had a stock rvr blow it out too and the old 6 bolt motor that was in the vr4 did it also, so maybe just the rubber on the dipstick is rooted.

Chris said they just put "o" rings on the old stick and said it just happens some times. Im too worried as everything is new

wouldnt the dipstick holder be covering symptoms of bigger issues? Or is the dipstick blowing out just a result of big boost applications?

Usually excess crankcase pressure caused by small breather system...or worst case scenario excess blow by on worn rings.

My 270000k old engine used to do it running big boost with an old dipstick.

I got a new one and it's never happened since. :)

Brackets are just a gimmick lol

How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.

I agree. If it is blowing out, there is a problem.

-10 fitting on the rocker cover will fix it.

Ill grab another valve cover and try -10 fittings and mod the catch can see if that works.

In the mean time i mounted the afr gauge and fire extinguisher. Im so tired of drilli g holes in the car or dash and to only have the officer tell me its a defect to have that in the head crash area so i used a existing screw hole for the gauge. And cable ties for the " hope to never use extinguisher.

So i broke the dog box. Im pretty sure its just the shift fork as i went to grab 3rd but just went rev limiter. Ive got the box out and its at my guy so ill get the verdict this week. My question is to you guys, is there a beefed up shift fork you can get for these things. Ive seen magnus do a billet fork but im trying to get in contact with PAR as they make the magnus dogset as thats what ive got in my car so im hoping PAR do their forks too. Just trying to cut out the middle man plus i can pick up. But always open to suggestions.

Wade is it a helical Par box or normal dog teeth. I have part of a helical par box here somewhere. I can't recall which gear broke on it though!

Normal dog teeth Tim. Details on the box you have Tim? Aftermarket billet shift forks or stock? I know oem boxes come with either aluminum or steel forks but im thinking i want billet ones.

Rob they are stock ones just not sure if they are aluminum or steel.

Baz not sure as ive never had the box open myself and the guy that opened it up the first time cant remember.

I do have a rs 3.9 box of spares so ill be getting the forks from there if the billet ones are too pricey. Whats the differences between the rs or gvr4 ones? Just aluminum and steel or ?????

Correct. Rs is steel. Vr4 alloy.

Fortunately my dog box has an aftermarket fork. Maybe a Shep one? Gotta look at photos.

And its all good shifts well no bearing or diff noise.

Car is totally different to drive with a stock box compared to the dog box

Straight cut dog gears no syncos compared to a stock syncro helical box is a massive difference mate plus the dog box has a locked front diff the stock box has the viscous.

I can actually reverse and turn now!

Ok so a little bit more of "should have done it right the first time" work on the vr4.

Power steer bottle

20160714_171605_zpscgcb1pca.jpg20160714_171618_zpsl2abzn7q.jpg20160718_132036_zpslaj37urx.jpg20160718_132052_zpsjwkouhkc.jpg

As per the rest of the car going to run speedflow fittings and braided line for the power steer. I will cap the 2 oil cooler line ports as i dont run 4WS any more so i figure it doesnt need cooling anymore.

Also upgrading from -8 to -10 breather lines from the rocker cover to catch can. With a oil level indicator added to the catch can. Im also going to scrap the return line from the can to the intake and just vent to atmosphere with a little kandN filter and see how that goes as i was getting a bit of oil in the can every 5000km oil change.
