As the heading says, my CC GSR is emitting a strong fuel smell.

At first I only noticed when I was driving it, but now even after the car has been stationary for several hours, there's a strong smell of fuel around it.

Checked usual suspects like petrol on the concrete - can't see any, and that the fuel cap hasn't come off - still there & done up tight.

Can't pin the smell down to a particular point on the car though?

Where do you even start with something like this - apart from not striking a match!?

Have you taken off the fuel tank inspection plate under the back seat and had a look there?
I had the tinyest of leaks there which eventually developed into a split hose. Have a look there for any fuel residue.

Check your injectors, fpr, filter and obviously the lines in and out. Failing that, get the car on the hoist and inspect the fuel lines

Easy for you to say....I live in a townhouse!

Might be a trip to the mechanics then if it comes down to suspecting the fuel lines $$$$

has the fuel system been modified? and what has been done?

No, no modifcations to the fuel system.

Did it happened when you filled right up ?

It could be as basic as your fuel filter, i know when they get really old they dont flow as freely
Whens the last time you changed that?

firstly you should visually checked your gsr fuel lines....maybe some hoses or connectors had a small leakage....

1. Are you running an oil can can setup with a breather? fuel, oil and water vapours all mix together and stink like crap.
2. Perhaps one of the hoses off the charcoal canister is split or come undone.
3. Perhaps the charcoal canister is full and overflowing and needs cleaning out.
4. Injector rubber seal leak.
5. Fuel hose leak somewhere along the line. Double check the collar on the line going to the fuel rail during the inspection.
6. Fuel pump cradle gasket leak

in my 9 years of owning my gsr an the 4 years the mrs has had hers for, the only time we had petrol leaks were from the injector o-rings, id check them first, probly the easiest thing to check

No, not running any oil air catch can setup - all stock still.

Will start by checking the injector o-rings to start with & probably changing the petrol filter

Petrol filter hasn't been done since I bought the car approx 4 months ago & no idea how long it's been on the car.
