I was going to do the Tampered Day on the 27th March and use one of their Daewoos, as the Coupe will still be in pieces.
Decided the $$$ will be better spent getting the car back in one piece so have decided to pass.
I was entered in the same day also until I realized that I will be in tassy for my little bros birthday

Will be a good opportunity to learn the lines of the track.
There should be spots available Jon - look forward to seeing you there!

sweet, Im sure the coupe will feel like a rocket after the daewoo!!!

Exactly! Hassle free and comfortable drive up, no stress about bending my own car (the last time still haunts me!) and a hassle free and comfortable drive back.
A mate's going to share it with me, so it'll work out to be a pretty cheap day compared to how much it costs to enter and tow the Coupe up.
C'mon Jon - don't throw out the "Wanna go tracking" comment and not enter!!

well i wanted to entre the EXE day in april but that has been filled already?!!!!!!! arrgghhh...
so just waiting for something else to come up around that time of year then ill b out.. however i was speaking to my mate and we think that cos we have high powered cars we should do those driver training days at sandown first to get a feel of how it all holds together around a track before we go hit it real time at winton.

Pull the other one Jon! Just because you have a "high powered" car doesn't mean you have to mash your right foot to the floor all the time. My mate's Datsun which has less than half the power of the Coupe runs consistent 1.44s around Winton.
Besides... Pete (p3akin) did a 1.41 on his first EVER outing at Winton in his E2/GSR. That's my current goal to match or beat at the moment!
BTW:
Sandown is actually a more 'dangerous' track to have an off on.... there's more armco to hit and you actually reach and sustain higher speeds on the front and back straights than you ever could at Winton.

I agree with shayne jon, just get out there! its not a race, you dont win a trophy so just go out there and have a crack, Id be suprised if you flying around there on your first outing, it takes some time.
but just being there is the fun part. tampered days are the best to start with - no pressure and fairly evenly matched groups.
and as shayne said sandown is more risky if your having a big go. but any track is better than the road or the drag strip:thumbsup:

HKS hypermax 2 coilovers
HKS camber tops front/rear
DBA5000
Ferodo DS300 pads
etc..
my car has been tracked before, it actually use to be a company promo car from qld so yer its nicely setup and i havent been afraid to push it around some corners... but that said its totally different going from a road to a track... and id much rather have an instructor in the car with me for first few times just to see what he can pick up of my driving style and give me afew pointers..
but yer ive heard of evos with 200kw running high 130s.. not sure what my goal is but i guess just get out there have some fun and crack a time and see if i can improve next outing..
