Just seeing if there are any other bike owners here on 4gtuner, i just bought a bike on the weekend an Aprilia rs125 moto gp replica. Its supposed to be the best handling bike in the world... i went for my learner rider course on wed/thurs passed that then went for my L's computer test friday passed that and bought a bike on sat lol

anyone else have a bike post up, i doubt there will be many... if any?

post up a pic of your rs250, is it track only or do you ride it on the street?

with this LAMS learner legal stuff i was really limited with what bikes i could get so i went for handling and stopping power, the arpilia has a 320mm front rotor and a 4 piston front caliper, once i get off my P's i will move up to something bigger like a 600 or 1000cc

yeah LAMS is a list of bikes that you can and cant have on your L's, cant exceed 150kw per tonne which my bike pretty much falls right on, and some bikes are just banned altogether like the aprilia rs250.

Ride an RS250, they are awesome... honestly, i have had a few bikes since i started riding in 99, and the RS250 is one bike that i HAVE TO HAVE, it's a 2000mdl with 8000' on the clock in excellent condition, i have a couple of sets of fairings for the track, and road.

I have just sold my gixxer, it was tuned by ptr, and had 124rwhp, not bad for the 180kg, it ran 11.3 @124, and plenty of track days as well.
i've run a 1:56 at the island, and 1:07 at broadford,
The RS i am only down to 1:09 but my weight is what holds me back on the small bike,

I have also ridden the RS125 and if i was 40kg's lighter, i'd have one too, they are a great bike!

Thats a real shame. When I had my L/Ps many a moon ago, I had a Suzuki RGV 250. It had to be the best bike to learn on. So forgiving yet great handling. Just didnt like turning up to peoples houses smelling like I just cut the grass (or the fines)

Congratulations on getting your licence. Its something you will forever be glad you have. And nice choice of bike. Two strokes are so simple to work on. Just use good oil like Bell Ray as the others leave a residue that can clag up the exhaust port valve. My RGV had that happen to the lower piston, The power valve snapped and slid into the cylinder. It jammed on the rings and chipped the crown. I also had to get a new sleave.

Nowdays I dont have road bike anymore, just ride big rec reg'd.

i'm a fat bastard at 100kg's, but more hp is more or less equal to less weight, so there is always ways to get around it

i took this from the LAMS list

All motorcycles with an engine capcity under 260ml are approved with the exception of:
Suzuki RGV250
Kawasaki KR250 (KR-1 and KR1s models)
Honda NSR250
Yamaha TZR250
Aprila RS250

the aprilia i bought has always used repsol fully synthetic oil and the owner gave me a bottle of what he had left which was the same as was in the bike and he had a few receipts from previous purchases so it should be ok with that. i have a manual with info on how to clean the powervalve and intake etc so i will be doing that but yeah a lot less maintenance that a 4 stroke.

I'm probably going to get a licence soon. Have been meaning to for ages. Then get something cheap that works until I can get un-restricted.

I rode for a few years, its weird because the police would pull up near me and we would have a nod at each other then off we went, they never looked twice, the aprillia looks tuff,

I want this one next

I had a GS500 to learn on .. I am pretty tall, and all the lower CC sports bikes did not feel to comfy for me ...

Posted Image

In 04, I lost my licence on it (on my L's), so then went out and also bought a Gixer 1K ...

Posted Image

Had both for a while, but when my car was almost finished being built, I let the GS500 go ... GS500 was pretty much the wet weather bike, and th Gixer was the fun bike...

Still have the Gixer ... With better pics on my FaceBook gallery ...

I pretty much ride the Gixer into work everyday now .. Rain or shine ... I just love being on a bike, and public transport where I am gives me the 5hits...
Moved on from the DSM powered Sonata who put out 238kw @ the wheels .... To a GSR 2.0L that is now engineered ..
