hey guys.

ive acquired a full set of Brembo calipers from a 6.5 TME. i also scored a complete set of hubs from an evo 5, and im wondering what the best way to go about this converison is.

ive had the rotors redrilled to 4 stud and i have adaptors to bolt the front calipers on, but its the rears that i think are going to give me some trouble due to the handbrake.

Is it worth just adapting or is there a way of using the 5 hub asemblies?
and ive also read the 5 stud hubs can be pressed into evo 1's. is this true, and if so worthwhile?

if someone out there has done this please help me out.

kind regards.
Andrew

Thanks mate :)

although im more interested in the brakes than the hubs. particularly on the back.
has anyone done this before without doing away with a handbrake??

cheers again.

Dougmo, and Enginr, have done brembos all round. Which has the provision for a handbrake. I believe Meek have been working on a kit too. However after the Meek tax could be exxy.

I am running fronts only and out braking EVO Vs + due to the car being only 1150 kgs. I did modify my proportioning valve though to ensure I had a good brake bias.

Sorry I can't actually tell you what was done as although I stated I, I meant the workshop that executed the brake conversion.

Ive got brembos front and rear on my colt, I also wrote a tutorial on another site on how to do so if you would like me to post it on here as well?

i use fto trailing arms with galant 2WD rear dust plates and handbrake mechanism at the rear, the standard colt handbrake cable worked good for me because it was for drum brakes but a later evo handbrake cable should do the trick for you boys i imagine

What do you mean by Meek tax? Not a nice thing to say.. Stuff here is cheap or as cheap as we can make it ligitimately from our suppliers..

Bringing a topic back, been reading a few things like finding a "bolt on" Brembo calipers to suit the 130mm front knuckles, anyway i came accross this

http://www.dsmtalk.c...ad.php?t=218171

http://www.502street...ad.php?t=192066

http://www.ebay.com/...=item1e6d2fc550

http://www.ebay.com/...=item1e6d2fc550

Now this will involve buying from USA and most prob same with everytime you want to change your pads,

Trying to work out what would be best, using these or just getting the Evo5+ calipers and getting custom dog legs made up

The pads will almost defiantly be the same as something here so getting them locally shouldn't be a problem

It has been covered a million times, it will surely be easier to just go evo 4 lower arms and knuckles.
if you dont want 5 stud the hubs will swap over, its a bolt on job.
Doing it this way means no adaptors etc which makes for a nicer install.

In saying that if you can get the brembos that bolt on from the us= nice and easy, what size are the rotors?
is the rotor height/offset the same?

Im not going to Brembos yet, i was just showing guys what info i found

I thought the EVO4 were still 130mm bolt spacing??

The stock CTS V rotors are 32mm (1.25") thickness and 355mm (14") diameter

Unsure about the offset, but alot of info is in the 1st 2 links i posted
