Contact Rob from Race Fab in NZ.
They produce rear caliper adaptors for Evo 1-3 and are currently working on adaptors for the front.
The front set-up should use the same size brake rotor as Evo 5-9 (325 x 32mm ???) just re-drilled to 4-stud.
Easy way for the fronts as above (Evo 4 knuckle and lower control arm)
Andrew.

ill be honest I didnt read much of the links.
evo 4-9 run the same caliper bolt spacing(suits brembos) which is not the same as 1-3.
a 355 rotor would require 18s too

Im not going to Brembos yet, i was just showing guys what info i found

I thought the EVO4 were still 130mm bolt spacing??

The stock CTS V rotors are 32mm (1.25") thickness and 355mm (14") diameter

Unsure about the offset, but alot of info is in the 1st 2 links i posted

Evo 4 knuckles have the Brembo bolt spacing.

It has been covered a million times, it will surely be easier to just go evo 4 lower arms and knuckles.
if you dont want 5 stud the hubs will swap over, its a bolt on job.
Doing it this way means no adaptors etc which makes for a nicer install.

In saying that if you can get the brembos that bolt on from the us= nice and easy, what size are the rotors?
is the rotor height/offset the same?

It'll be a bit silly and counter productive to upgrade to Brembo brakes whilst maintaining a 4 stud setup, considering replacement rotors will be available off the shelf in 5 stud and you have a far better choice of wheels that will fit over the brakes if you have a 5 stud pattern. Another benefit would be the strength of having 5 studs and nuts holding your wheels on and spreading the load rather than only 4 studs.

Jarred might recognise a couple of these photos

To summarise what's been said into one response to avoid confusion, you can use the EVO 4 or 5 front hub and lower control arms method as described above to convert the EVO II-III front to 5 stud and be Brembo caliper and rotor ready.

If you have an EVO I or GSR Lancer then you need to remember that the EVO 4 and 5 lower control arms dont have a location to bolt your front sway bar onto. Therefore, youre going to need an EVO II/III front swaybar and a set of EVO II/III front struts and long sway bar links to complete the setup. Many aftermarket struts sold for the EVO II/III have the bracket on the strut assembly to bolt the sway bar link onto so they are your best bet as far as struts go. Sway bar links can be purchased new.

For the rears, you can use a press to remove your existing EVO I-III rear hubs and replace them with EVO 4-9 rear hubs to convert the rears to 5 stud. Fit the Racefab adapter plates to make the rears EVO 5-9 Brembo caliper and rotor ready. I also believe you need the EVO 5-9 rear handbrake assembly.
All it costs you is money

what about master cylinder does any of that need to be changed or is the stock evo 3 one fine for the job? i thought i heard someone say you had to change it.
also how does this affect your offset? is it the same or different?

Just bringing this thread back, if you still want to retain abs, what do you do for the front evo 5 knuckles? Or does everyone just delete abs while doing this conversion?

On the racefab brackets, rob went out of his way to sort out the miss fitting issues, just needed to start the conversation. He was great to deal with! IMO the techsport ones look better, but mOre then twice as much...

Question: Does this mean I need a EVO 5-9 Rear brake assembly since I'm using the RaceFab adapter and also while searching on the RaceFab site I
saw EVO 1-3 Front brembo adaptors do I also need this?

Am I missing something or do you have to put the whole rear arm on the press in order to get the hubs in and out. I can't seem to figure out an easier way.

But yes you do need to put the whole arm on the press and press bearing out from the back.
Its a prick of a job.
