Hey just wondering if anyone has a PFC in there TME?
Just wondering how good they performed and if any troubles?
How do they rate against a re-mapped ecu?

nothing wrong with a power fc

but your stock ecu reflashed would most likley be a bit better (depending on the tuner)

the hand controller is handy if you leave it in the car to monitor things

retain the factory idle control and cold start - factory knock control

other than that not too much difference - but if you are thinking of buying a pfc(dont have already) then the money you save can be spent on a tune on your stock ecu

adamgsr: I'm just curious to know which path you took? Did you end up putting a PowerFC?

I honestly don't think it's worth it and as Dougmo said flash your stock ECU.

I wouldn't be wasting my time with the power FC. In the new year, i'll be chasing over 300kw's on pump fuel with an Evo FP Red Turbo and a flashed Evo VI ECU. Apparently Steve Knight's Evo VI is laying down 450kw's (flywheel) and he is using a factory ECU (might be Evo VII, can't recall.

If your tuner (I assume that would be Morpowa) can't flash your ECU, i'd go to someone who can, like SKR...

Agreed with Brad (EVO85)

I'm using an Evo 8 ECU with stock turbo (15g - TME) and E85 for 230kws (22psi VDR reading here, not a dyno queen).
I can up the boost and get close to 250kws.
Factory ECU's FTW! Plus heaps cheaper!

On a side note there Jon, why are you selling the Motec?

on my old setup i had my car tuned to 310kws with a power fc in the 5. no issues re idling if your tuner knows what he is doing

It's only cheaper in parts, it costs you more for labour and time required. The advantage of the PowerFC is real-time tuning/adjustments and the FC Commander display.

Edit: Only realised how old this thread was... haha

and you can only remove the AFM if the power Fc is a D-jetro, and they are rare and expensive.

Not to mention about $300-400 in additional sensors for it :)

I ran Power FC D-Jetro in my EVO 6.
No problems with cold starts or idles etc.
Owned the car for 3 years, it was modified for 2 years - no dramas.

I bought my D-Jetro from ebay Australia for $1,300 New in 2009 - was in stock in NSW.
The sellers username was JDM_Parts if i remember correctly.
It came with all the sensors etc, mind you the map sensor was a Mazda item (3 Bar).
