Heard this somewhere just seeing if anyone knows if its true, can you fit Galant GSR front struts with king springs into a VR4?
And isnt the spring rate and ride height look better than the VR4 strut and king spring combo?
I have kings springs in my car currently and the front could do with being a bit lower...

Yes, I've done it on mine and it should have more travel on the struts than the vr4 ones. I've got a pair of monroe ones which I fitted thought it would solve the clunking noise but turned out the springs were buggered so pretty much brand new. I fitted the old one back which is the kyb for gsr, so it's just lying around here, let me know if your interested.

The back ones are different though with the GSRs.

AWD / FWD Galants - Fronts are the same for both struts and springs.
AWD / FWD Galants - Rears are different

The FWD cars have shorter struts (bottom section).
Although the springs are the same on the rear.

I've used whiteline front and rear springs on the GALANT AMG from the GALANT VR4.

this is the setup I have now, scored king springs off ebay cheap thought they were VR4 but turned out to be not,
I have GSR king springs in the rear and they clunk a bit when going over spoon drains etc, I was told by a suspension place that they were the same as VR4 springs eg same part no. not sure if they were right since they clunk, spring could be stuffed.

I tried a pair of GSR springs in the front struts but they were making bad screeching noises when turning, looked good tho nice and low but undrivable.

Ended up getting VR4 ones for the front now they look a bit too high, I still have the GSR fronts so prob will get some GSR struts also and fit them.

Mico how much for the fronts? how old are they?

you may just have dead shocks.... springs shouldnt make noises unless there mounted incorrectly..

Chosen Weapons:
WideBody Galant GSR 4g63 N/A+T Hybrid 1st/3rd gen +AWD
