hey guys I have an evo 2 gsr and I've noticed my parking lights aren't turning on with the switch? The taillights go on but not the amber side markers or turn signals on headlight, but they work when i signal. Any ideas? Ta

i havent had to change one yet but i would flick on the hazard lights stick my head under the dash possibly above fuse box near drivers kick panel. And find which realay is making the ticking noise. i have just experienced very similar problems working on other cars.

Have you been under the dash working and plugging and unplugging things lately?
Do your hazards work when you turn them on? If so then its not the flasher box which is a black or grey plastic box under the dash. It could be your steering wheel surround stalk as well or something completely different altogether.
Have you been working at the front of the car especially unplugging headlight and turn indicator plugs etc? Some of those plugs can look quite similar, especially those that go down to the front of the bar for front foglights as they can look similar to parking light plugs and get mixed up.
As with anything electrical it really needs to be tested with a multimeter or test light under process of elimination and difficult to assess over the internet.
Can you describe exactly what you meant by 'but they work when I signal?'
Do me a favour and switch on your wiper motor to see if your wipers work and get back to me. I remember simething similar happening to me once when working on an EVO 2. There are 2 plugs identical on the left hand side of the steering wheel under the dashboard. One will be coloured green and one will be white. The white one plugs into the back of the steering wheel/wiper stalk, and the other green plug goes into the plastic box behind the stereo area.

Yea my hazards work fine when i switch them on! What i mean by "but they work when i signal" is when i signal(indicate) right or left, the side markers and front signal lamps illuminate as there supposed to.
My wiper motor also works perfect!
I cant remember whether my lights worked prior to installing an aftermarket stereo but just to make sure I took it out to see if there were any pinched wires, but everything seems okay.
I don't have front fog lights only rears and they work too!

Dont want to state the obvious, but have you checked the fusebox near the acclerator pedal? lol
Unplug and replug the parking lights behind the headlight too?

The evo 1-3 doesnt have parker lights in the front corner indicators. They are a single element bulb. Only come on for indicating or hazard lights.
The parker light is in the headlight.

Absolutely sure. The corner front corner indicators and side guard indicators, only illuminate when indicating, or when the hazards lights are activated.
The front corner lights/indicators, have a single element globe(21W).
I can't recall, but I'm sure someone can confirm on here, but the Lancer GSR(not evo), has parker lights in the corner indicators.

That would make sense the first switch position has some light in the headlights and tailights. The second switch position throws on full headlights! Thanks dude
