Hey guys,I ve been tryng to get a cold air intake system to my car..i've been to more than 20 mechanics.all of them were negative about it.They have given me few reasons saying why i cant get a cold air intake kit.
1.because of its carbi
2.there is not enough space under my hood.
so finally i have decided to get a K&N pan filter instead of getting a cold air intake kit and it cost me around 120$.Here what i want to know..is it really impossible to get fixed a cold air intake kit to my car??everyones getting it and why meee god???

I tried to work out how to do one for my old motor... It is possible if you customise the bowl... But there isn't much point. For the few kW you may gain, you'll end up spending too much. I would say first thing, cut the gear stick down (assuming its a manual), lower it... and look into a swaybar and strut brace kit. lowering alone will improve your handling, and the swaybars will make it ride like a go-kart! The biggest advantage the coupes have is their handling... I've left many many skylines, supras, wrx's and even evos for dead through the black spur in mine before the engine upgrade, as I was able to put ALL of my power around corners and keep it smoother and faster! I ended up losing my licence after dragging off a 300ZX twin turbo and undercover cop car in the wet!

WTF :rolleyes:make that the last thing you ever do on a Mitsu will be "cut the gear stick down"

I would agree with that lol. I think the first thing that should be done is either an engine swap or a complete overhaul on the existing engine.WTF :rolleyes:make that the last thing you ever do on a Mitsu will be "cut the gear stick down"

Depends on what you want to do with your car really. Start with a compression test and a leak down test to determine the condition of your current engine. If your current engine is good then start doing some general maintenance to eliminate the small problems. A swap would be up to you. If you can't find parts for your engine swap in an engine that has plenty of aftermarket support.hard start for me i guess..engine swap eh??or a complete overhaul???which is the cheaper way????

lol try driving my CC coupe with the giant stick that was in it. I cut the stick right down and it is so smooth and quick... seriously, I have driven several trucks with shorter throw on the gear stick... I would highly recommend to anyone with a coupe to trim it down a little unless you enjoy the feel of riding a harly with the big gear stick up beside the driver

Anyway... go for the Evo 4g63 swap... its fairly painless and affordable... and besides the increased tire wear then there is only positives as far as I'm concerned. The best thing I did was have one put in mine!

With short shifters cheap these days there's no need to cut the stick down, its stupid and illegal
