evo7 questions

hey guys,
im new to the evo scene, i just bought an evo 7 and lemme just say, they were absoulutely amazing ! but ive been meanin to ask someone a few things abt them n didnt know who to go to, so i came here 8)
when i launch the evo, and then from 1st gear to 2nd gear, 2nd - 3rd, when i change gears, each time ( bootin it ), as soon as i dump the clutch, the car makes a pretty loud thump noise ? is this a normal thing ? its basically a stock evo, all its got is an exhaust ( not sure what kinda exhaust it is ) and a short shifter
if anyone can help me out, itd be much appreciated !

Where does it sound like the thump is coming from? (Front, rear, left, right, high, low etc.)
My guess would be the rear diff bushes are worn and need replacing.

yeah it sounds like its comin from the diff, how much would i be looking at to get that replaced ?

I have an evo 8 and yeah that thump from the rear is common......but a little friendly advice. when you get that thump it means you are having to change pretty harshly......unless your a fan of changing transfer cases, diffs and other busted drive line bits don't change that hard.

i would take the car to a mechanic and get them to check it out on a hoist.. it might be something else.. my e9 doesnt "thump" and its got alot more power then stock.

Irrelevant what your car does Joni would take the car to a mechanic and get them to check it out on a hoist.. it might be something else.. my e9 doesnt "thump" and its got alot more power then stock.

Willy definitely get every suspension bush checked out and don't drive it as hard on launching and shifting or you may find that you'll be a honorary member of the My CT9A is off the road cause I raped it club.
Congrats on the new ride It will last! as long as you treat it well.
I'd strongly suggest taking it to a workshop that works on lots of evo's rather than a generic mechanic.
Evo's just arent like a normal car I think you know that already

@willy - that thump coming from the rear shows that you're releasing the clutch too quick.
Bear in mind whilst you can get away with that on a non 4wd, it doesn't work that way for 4wd.
Your clutch has to take care of the power to the front and rear diffs.
Either get used to it or rev a little higher if you want to release your clutch in the light of speed. Hope this helps
