I personally have never seen one. I always thought it was just guys trying to pump up their cars, although I've never really looked into it.
Tristan pres. of MGEC in Adelaide has a IX TMR Clubspec....would have to be on the same playing field if the IX MR even exists in Aust.

so was the 8 tho, and 8 MRs have import approval?

import regulations are stupid.

The CT9Ws come in MR spec also. and look pretty different to the shitty CH wagons we have here. So how is it an 8 MR can be imported but a 9 MR or 9 wagon cant? Its retarded.

The 8s were imported (aussie delivered) in very minute numbers hence why import approval wasnt too hard :)

Evo 8's were aussie delivered as a Low Volume - hence JDM 8 & 8MR being able to be imported

Evo 9s were aussie delivered as a High Volume - hence no JDM importsat all i.e. JDM 9 / 9MR being allowed in (so as to not affect the sales of the local Aus market)
They can however be imported like the Evo III - yellow plate personal import. Guy in WA has a 9MR legit one, and there is also a UK FQ series roaming around somewhere in Aus too.

Weird how we got the Cedia shaped sedan badged as a VRX but also missed out on the Cedia wagon which is what the CT9A & W's are based on I would say thats probably the reason also.

If only we got the Cedia wagon here I would have build a CT9W using it as the base CH's are very different in the frt half of the chassis :thumbsdown: making it not worth the drama:(

Personal import is the way to get an UK FQ or 9MR. Go live in Japan & UK for a period and bring one back - some nice fees attach though. No sure the extent of the period to qualify.
