The new Daily

image_zpst7jnqqhv.jpg

Yes, The thought had crossed my mind, GTX3076r or GTX3071r. As its such an expensive component of the car and this time I cant afford to redo anything this time, I thought Id go for the smaller more responsive option, The engine is still a 2L, and even though having a built head, its only going to be running BC 272 degree cam, 10.18/9.66 lift, so I cant imagine the car running revving any more than 8000-8500rpm. The plan is to run it purely on E85 and should efficiently make good power vs response. My thoughts would have been with a more Aggressive cam or running a stroker, a GTX3076r would be more ideal. (the GTX 3076r was also a few hundred dollars cheaper I believe damn it)

The new under car surge tank turned up last night, Test fitting it however, I missed the fact that 2 of the ports are at the side of the tank, and fowl the side of the car and the rail of the car. One of them Im going to block off any ways however the other one I need, So the option is 1: Space the tank 25-30mm with some ally tube below the under side of the floor so the fitting clears the rail. Option 2 is to have another fitting welded in the front and mount it directly to the underside of the floor

I'm procrastinating over both options so some one please help :)

The plan next over the next few months, is to get it started again which involves getting the new Haltech wired up, running Coil on plug, not going to use the S90 throttle body instead adapt a ford throttle body, build new dump pipe, build new exhaust and cooler pipe

GTX3071R will be a nice turbo. What size turbine housing did you go?

Have another fitting welded in. Don't bodge the setup to make it work. Do it properly whilst the setup is off the car.

Went the V-band.63 for now, once its all back together and tuned, if it needs it will purchase the .82

Yea that's what I was thinking after looking at it last night, I sized it up again and don't even think there is enough room for bungs in the sides that's how tight the fit is so I'm going to get them welded shut and the new weld in fitting on the front courtesy of turbo yoda

Yes, I will sell it, don't need it any more :) Let me know if you want it.

Also will be selling soon the old Haltech E6X with vr4 loom, 680cc injectors, 3000gt rear calipers, rebuilt with new bendex pads and gsr Gearbox. Might also have the inter cooler pipe, up for sale as well.

Ask him if it'll fit into a Honda. Lol. He does nice work from what I've seen with the MCM build.

After a long weekend the car is back on the ground, 5 stud and evo brembo conversion almost complete. I'm really happy how it looks inside the evo 7 enkei wheels. I installed the 1300cc injectors and dummy fitted the turbo and radiator. All looks good. Im sending the surge tank up to AM auto to let turbo yoda weld in that fitting, so should have the fuel system complete some tim this week.

Brembos and 5 stud is certainly on my to do list eventually. However I have other preasing matters to deal with, like getting it running and on the road for the first time in 5 years... love ur work though

So I’ve had a pretty eventful last 4 months. Ups and downs however everything has turned out for the best. I was all ready to have to car sent up to AM however had a run-in with my ex houseo drugo neighbour which resulted in 3 of my 4 cars being vandalized. (Not the GSR it lived at my parents’ house thank god)

The worst hit was the new SV6. It was kicked in, keyed and paint strippers thrown over it. Ultimately the car has now been fully resprayed and is mint. I had planned to do it eventually however not under those circumstances.

As a result, I started looking at new houses to move my young family into, however ended up taking over the mortgage in one of my parents houses.10g later in fees and costs, I’m all moved in to my new house far away from my previous neighbour who currently on the run and has a warrant out for his arrest.

After getting the place unpacked and moved in, I thought it was now time to move the gsr to its new home, Since 2010 it has lived in my parents. At the new house the gsr has a large garage. One side will eventually converted into a private workshop for myself and some good friends.

I now have some what of plan to get it started again.

  1. Finish off fuel system

  2. Redo brake lines to suite brembos

  3. Bolt up engine accessories such as manifold, turbo, radiations, thermos fans etc

  4. Finish off stripping out and pain inside, reassemble dash

  5. Bolt cage in

  6. Send to Turbo Yoda and Dose Vader for more awesomeness. They will be installing the haltech, throttle body, Modifying the cooler piping and building the new dump pipe to suite the external gate.

I would also like to find a poverty pack CC sedan and convert the electic windows to wind-up

That’s as far as I have gone and will then decide if it’s time to sell up for an Evo,7,8,9 or complete

.

Loaded up on the trailer for its final voyage.

Yes its a bit animal like, The interooler was installed prior to me buying the car back in 07. It will have to be modified to bolt up the the JM Fabrications intake and the turbo.
