Another weekend down, and almost back on the ground.
Although originally the plan was to have the car back on the ground this weekend however we had another hiccup. I accidently kinked the 3/8 fuel feed hardline on the pipe bender. Unfortunately the shop is not open for more hardline so it prematurely ended the weekend.
The weekend was still successful though. I purchased the rest of the soft fuel lines to rig up the rear, fabricated new undercar hardline brackets and installed the tail shaft.
I also purchased sway bar link bushes that should work, connecting the gsr sway bar to the evo 4 control arms. I will know later on this week if this was successful or not.
I also dummy fitted up the thermo fans on the radiator. We are using 10 inch Sonic Performance fans and set them to push type.

The plan for the car now is to run a full interior with the cusco 6pt roll cage that I’ve had sitting in the shed for the last few years. I’m also thinking of running a later model of evo front and rear seats and new carpets. I will also have to run a baby seat for my daughter.
Exterior wise I’m going to go evo 2 front bar and customised lip with evo 3 side skirts, pods and hopefully wing. I’m planning to also flare the rear guards a tad.
I’m also entertaining the idea of possible converting to built auto down the track and adapt manualised paddle shifters. I’ve seen it done in a 2j 6 series BMW and Datsun 270 with a LS3 and the guys that done it reckons it’s great. I’ll see after I’ve researched it a bit more.
I also inherited this little beauty, mainly for parts however it is still in great condition and a full running car. It has had a minor rear ending however it doesn’t look like it’s affected the car. We are thinking of using it as a fun car to compete in a local gymkhana series up here on the coast. It sports the standard 1.5 carb however has been upgraded with brake and suspension handling package from all my old spare parts.
Currently it supports:
- Whiteline front and rear strut brace
- GSR sway bar nolthane links
- 4x114 conversion with 16x7 inch wheels
- GSR brakes with slotted rotors
- Pedders sportsryder springs and shocks
- DC2 integra seats
- Gsr control arms with whiteline anti lift bushes.
Hopefully there will be more updates soon and the cars back on the ground read to go up to the shop for the hatech

I brought my GSR off him and before I got it it had a built auto in it that was shifted from buttons on a GTA steering wheel...

If your thinking of going built auto that is manually shifted, talk to RobEVO... He'll know a thing or two about it....

That Is awesome, its still an idea and only just done the evo 3 conversion. If I hadn't recently done that it would defiantly be on the cards. It would depend on the monies in the near future.

Well its been a quite last month however managed to get a few things done on the car to a stage where it is ready to head up to the workshop to have the haltech installed.
Firstly managed to get the gsr sway bar to mate to the evo 4 control arms with a fabricated metal bracket. Note still need to weld in some gussets however it will do the trick.
Next I finishes off the fuel lines. The Under car lines were made up and fitted, however Iv decided to change to black fittings for the braided line.
I Also bought a new tow ute. No hate please because its a Holden.
So now the next stage of the build begins. The haltech will be installed with a fresh brand new loom, intake pipe, exhaust and dump fabricated, and started. Off to AM Auto in the next few weeks

Its been a while since I last posted, unfortunantly not much has progressed with the car since april however I had some spare time on the weekend,
I finished off a few jobs that I had been meaning to do for a while, Fitted the thermostate housing gaskets, Black proflow fittings and baid fuel lines in the engine bay, and installed the battery tray in the boot. I plan to finish off the rear surge tank and fuel lines this week as well as starting the wiring for the fuel pumps. The plan is to hardwire the 3 fuel pumps to the battery in the boot with some relays and fuses. I also need to sort out a mounting braket for the font mounted thermo fans. This may require brakets fabricated to the radiator to mount them

Over the weekend, I decided to ditch the alloy radiator, purely for its size and inconvenience. I have a standard one back in that’s in great condition and will run dual sonic 10 inch thermos fans. Not only is the fit much nicer, there’s a heap more room. This will be an interim solution until I work out a permeant solution. I also have a bolt on 3 inch exhaust system on the way, should be here in a few days. It’s not the stainless system I was going for however the price is right for me at this stage.

What exhuast manifold is that?
Its a custom steam pipe on, that was made up for a open wheeler that use to run a 4g63. I purchused it after they decided change to an LS several years ago. Problem with it is that it sits so far back makes a tight dump pipe and only small space for the wastegate. It does fit nice and tight up against the block though. Still a quality job, Not to sure who manufactured it origionally sorry. I should have a new Turbosmart gate for it next week.

radiator aparently golf rad fit under the support member and are quite wide so could offer alot of cooling while still giving space.
either that or get a rad shop yo make up a core from your specs to fit under the support you;ll pick upp all that space the orginal takes up and still have the benefits of a thick core

Just returned from holidays to find my new turbosmart wastegate. Looks like it fits perfectly due to the lack of space. This should do for now.

Bit more work on the fuel system last night, fuel log and check vlaves, rather than a Y peice, looks alot neater, Had to drop the surge tank to fit it however much better job.
Also, If anyone is intrested I may have a Brand New Unused Haltech Sprint 500 for sale with blank loom.
