Hey Jake, could you please re-post a pic if your undercar surge tank setup?  I have purchased the same Aeroflow twin-pump setup and was just trying to remember where/how you installed yours.

Cheers!

That's ace.  Thanks a lot mate.

Are you running your lines from the surge tank under the car to and from the rail?

Also - did you modify the tank to put a 3rd threaded holes for a fitting?  Mine only has 2x threaded holes on the front.

Yea mate, 3/8 hard line under car and rubber to the surge tank. All up front it's braid. Will braid the rear section one day. Yea had an extra fitting installed. Because the fittings in the side don't clear the rear rail.

Fuel system specs

1300cc injectors
Billet Fuel rail
1000hp proflow reg
AN6 feed and return lines
3/8 hardline
Aeroflow surge tank
X2 bosh 044
Walbro lift pump.
Billet y peice
Proflow check valves
eBay fuel filter will replace with good one
Refurbished and sealed tank

I'm hoping it should be enough fuel for 500hp on e85

I'm going to make a custom fuse/relay box and mount it beside the battery in the boot. Should look like a proper job.

You might want to re-visit the Walbaro as a lift pump.  I'm currently running a Walbaro255 as a lift pump into my swirl pot that is feeding a Bosch044 and I think the Walbaro is contributing to an overpressure issue I'm having in the system.

You want low pressure high volume for a lift pump.

I've gone with a Pierberg in-tank pump.

Another challenge I'm having is temporary fuel starvation due to the saddle tank. The factory venturi jet setup is not adequate enough to feed the driver side of the tank from the passenger side fast enough. I'm going to run a transfer pump in the passenger side of the tank instead.

I'm also upgrading my return line from -6AN to -8AN.

For sure.  My current system which uses 1x -6AN feed from the 2l swirl pot to the rail and a -6AN return from the rail to the swirl pot and maintains the factory tank setup with the Walbaro has served me well for the last few years, but it's time to upgrade.

I found on the circuit that I would start getting the temporary fuel starvation and would have to keep the tank fully topped up to ensure it wouldn't run dry.  It was a Band-Aid containment, not a permanent solution to the problem.

New setup will use the same Aeroflow 4.75 litre surge tank that you have with 2x -6AN feed lines from 2x Bosch 044 pumps running to a Magnus billet fuel rail modified to accommodate a central return port.  I'll run a -8AN return line to the surge tank.  The surge tank will be fed from the factory tank by a Pierberg lift-pump through a -8AN line and the return from the surge tank to the factory fuel tank will also be a -8AN.

I'm still undecided if I'll run my return from the surge tank to the passenger side of the factory tank to feed the transfer lift pump, or dump the fuel straight back to the driver side.

I'm also having custom cradles made up to accommodate the Pierberg lift pumps with a fuel pot setup so that the pumps will never run dry.  The transfer pump on the passenger side will feed the driver side of the tank through a -8AN line too.  All about moving as much fuel volume with a low pressure.

It sounds and looks like a complicated setup when I lay it all out, but I still prefer the factory tank location and position over a fuel cell mounted in the boot.

The us DSM guys do some mod to the transfer valve to make it transfer more fuel. Maybe they open the orifice...

Yeah, Radium do an upgraded Venturi Jet Pump setup, which I have purchased, but after a bit of consideration, I've decided to go with the twin pump setup.

I can't be bothered stuffing around with trialling different orifice fittings etc and just want to rely on a consistent and known source of transfer.

Can't remember where it was. Somewhere in the depths of dsmtuner. Maybe easier to dissect the radium setup

Jake, after looking at my Aeroflow surge tank, I've noticed the ports on the side are not linked to the ports on the front. I haven't found installation instructions for this tank but I'm assuming the higher side ports are for the surge tank overflow back to the fuel tank.

When you had your additional port put into the front of the surge did you allowfor this?

@ evo-gsr - If you google Radium venturi jet pump it'll bring up the hardware that I believe Jack is referring to. It is an upgraded and adjustable version of what is already in our tanks.

The factory setup has a tiny orifice and I can see how it could become a blockage point in an upgraded system.
