Its time, my freinds, to pass the old girl on to someone, rather than have it sitting under a tree. HG hatch 4G63 5 speed.
I have just made a donation and just waiting for clearance to post in the classifieds. In the meantime, 200495826851 ebat item number, but it won't start till tomorrow night (could be 72 hours before I can list it here)
I was hoping to post it here first, and give everyone here first dib's.
I will put the details in the classifieds as soon as I am able.

Thanks CLuTZ, that happened quick.
Starting price on the ebay add is $950, 1989 HG Gallant Hatch. White.
We all know how ebay works- if someone wants it for the engine, or a light globe, they bid on the whole thing.
If I can get enough interest in most of the bits, I'm happy enough to wreck it, but I'd prefer to sell it whole (save the PITA).
If you want something, send a pm, and I'll post the reserved parts here. If enough are reserved, I'll wreck it, and start posting parts.
I will upload some pics tomorrow, as it's late and I have to re-size them to 90kb or so. So more details to come.
Ebay add says wheels not part of the deal, but I'm open to offers from here (4gtuner). 14" CSA's, nothing flash. Might even fit Lancers???
Its being sold as a parts car, as its missing seats, speakers, and the motor has a gremlin that I could not evict. It could still possibly be a simple fix.
The good; 4G63 SOHC 2L, 5 speed, near new clutch and pressure plate (1500km), lots of new EFI sensors (O2, TPS, Air meter, etc), Good panels, Good interior- less front seats, Good drive shafts and all that stuff. A/C, power- steer, windows, mirrors, locking. Build Dec 1989. Good computer. Original radio and seperate cassette player (cassettes will rise again, I tells ya!!)
Car started life as a demo at the dealership, had its first owner and I have had it since then (15 years). I had always liked the idea of a 4G63T in it. Maybe even an Evo drivetrain... Ahh, dreams. Leave the Walkinshaws behind, then stuff a clothes drier in the hatch. A practical rocket, that you can sleep in the back of when you are all too drunk. But then came kids.
Happy to answer any questions. Pm me if you want my phone no, happy to chat.
Danny.

I like the phrase in your sig.... From one of the greatest road moves... "We are 100% SNAFUd"

Nothing like some Campbells fully loaded guy. Even the toe-cutter would be scared of him. Anyone that can surf ski through the bush has my vote.
We know who you are, Bronze, we know who you are!
Or what about " light me, Johny..."
I will change my sig now and then, let me know if i hit your fav.

"So easy?"
"C'mon Max - you've seen it - you've HEARD it.... and you're STILL asking questions!?":w00t:

Well, Ebay was as good as a hat full of bumholes. Zero bids.
Any ideas of what its worth would be appreciated. I paid $16k for it in the early 90's and sure as eggs, it ain't worth that much. Their list price was something like $32,000 new. I'd be happy with an offer I couldn't refuse.
As for the engine, it had a problem where it would suddenly drop to idle. It wouldnt stall, but it would not rev. Then a few seconds later, all systems go, full power.
I spent over a brass band on new EFI sensors, pulled hair out and took years off my life trying to fix it. What antagonised my the most, is it could have been as simple as a bad electrical connection.
In the middle of this, the clutch and pressure plate were replaced and did less than a 1000 km.
Gearbox is good, struts, discs, etc, are all good. Body is straight (apart from valance)
But it is all garden variety stuff. SOHC, stock brakes, blah blah.
As far as I can tell, it would be a good drivetrain to build a cheap, fast-ish Lancer, good bottom end for a possible twin cam head, or put a set of recaro's in it and drive it.
Open to offers, for parts or whole car.
