yea quickly jump on here and did a search, i remembered something about a hyndai one being the same.

found a post by SIVART about it being a sonata one, walked down to my local parts shop and did a quick comparasion, was all good.

managed to get to work at 10am :)

i thought a i remebered reading something a while back about the hyundai harmonic balancers having their TDC mark differently. not the case for the RVR.

are the timming marks on the harmonic balancers between VR4 and EVO 1-3's the same?

holden 202 is way more reliable than this RVR.

i did a timing belt/water pump not so long ago and replace the ancillary belts at the same time. i did have to tighten them a fair bit because the belts are new. you know hoe it goes, inital tension then re-tension a week or so later as the belt gets used to its new home.

then the radiator blew its top off, thinking the new water pump caused that. all has been fine for a month until the HB went, probably because of the new belts.

when i did the timing belt, i inspected the HB, it had the usual rubber crack around the circumference but actually didnt look that bad, the engine has only done 160,000kms, albeit 160,000kms with no mainteance it appears.
