Hi, does anyone know what the torque specifications are for the nuts on the rocker cover for a 4G93T engine in a '93 GSR?

I have just put a decent sized crack in the case i have now, and dont want to do it again on the next case I get.....

I always tighten them from inside out, diagonaly

Download the 4G93 engine manual.
It has all the torque specs you'll ever need {thumbs up}

Always remember that you're torquing up into aluminium - so you really only want to go a nudge over finger tight IMO.

If you used new rubber gaskets under the rocker cover dont forget to re-tighten the bolts again after a couple hundred km or so.

And make sure you put more sealant in the corners and push it in there, coz my gasket wanted to sit up a bit in the corners.

Will do! I noticed that there is a little seap of oil coming out from under the left hand side fron half cut circle rubber gasket. Is it just a matter of cleaning it thoroughly and re-sealing it in properly?

Also is it better to use a generous amount of seal or take it easy? Haha coz I lightly did it last time, may be the reason why it leaked in some areas.... Lastly is it right that you should leave the seal to set for 24 hrs before driving? Just making sure! Thanks.

You need to seal around the half moon seal, the workshop manual says to only use silicone around the half moon seal and the end cam caps....
But when i asked some more experienced members who have done it heaps more than me and they said to use it all the way around. But don't put it in the groves in the rocker cover, or you'll make a mess for next time, only apply to the head surface.
Clean up the head surface real good with some razor blades first.

With how much silicone to use, don't go crazy or it'll just spit out the sides anyway, but put enough so its not see through, if you get me.
And push dollops inot the corners, and in the corners of where it goes over the cam caps.

And +1 on re torquing them after a few hundred kms.
And torque it up gradually in a criss-cross pattern as it will keep settling as you do it.
A lot of silicone's now say you don't need to do a re torque later, but i did it finger tight, then let it dry over night and the next day tightened it a tad more.

I used to put a lot of sealer on too but not anymore lol If its on too thick I found that the cover will sit on a thick blanket of dried up silicon rubber which will eventually blow out and cause another leak later.
When I use new rubber gaskets I only use just enough sealer to bond the rubber to the alloy surface to create a seal. I put a very thin smidgeon of gasket sealer all the way around (including half moon whether its rubber or alloy) and smear it on in a light even layer with my index finger. Then I quickly put it on and torque the bolts down before it starts to form a skin on the surface of the sealer. You shouldnt have to need to go around and wipe up any excess
Oh and I hope you wipe the alloy surface and rubber gasket with metho and a clean cloth to ensure a dry oil-free surface before putting the cover on.
