This is a assembly guide for a Quartermaster V Drive twin plate clutch.
The reason I decided to do this is after searching the internet I was unable to find any info on assembly with pictures
showing the differences between the friction plates, at first glance they look identical, and if installed incorrectly your clutch will not function correctly!
First - in order from Flywheel to gearbox
1 - Flywheel
2 - friction disc part number F25S9312 QMI rivets facing the engine.
3 - floater plate (fits in any position and either side)
4 - 2nd friction disc part number F27S9011 QMI rivets facing floater plate and engine
5 - pressure plate (flat side facing engine)
6 - clutch cover
If you look at the pictures you can see the difference between the friction discs
on one of them the back of the center hub is flush with the plate surface, the other disc is recessed slightly, these must be placed in the correct order
or the nose of the fristion plates will touch and it will defeat the purpose of having a flash twin plate.
there is only about 1.4mm of clearence between the two plates, doesn't sound like much but it is the difference between your clutch working or not!
this may seem obvious to some but if you miss these slight differences it means you will need to remove the gearbox to fix it later!
I hope this helps.

I found the instructions for the clutch, it says to mount the friction plates in apposing directions
this unfortunatly wont work as the plate closest to the flywheel doesn't get picked up buy the input shaft
so you would end up with a single plate clutch again,
the gap between the 2 splines is the recess plate amount + floater plate + the beveled area of the friction plate + the shamfer on the input shaft = which adds up to about 10mm
there is only about 9mm of input shaft hanging out of the back of the last friction plate when fitted to the box.
Anyway if anyone wants to correct me
I have no problems with that.
