Came across a couple of these and the bracket locator holes are different orientation. Must be like the ssg models.

By the logic that lanthanum alternators are the same, then getz are same as well as excel 3,as we sell them as interchanges every day at work. Aparranty nl v6 papers specifically is also the same. Unconfirmed on these though

I didnt see any X3 excel ones just X2. Nor any Getz either.

They look completely different - have a black plastic backing on them but they fit and do the job for lantras - not sure on the interchange again to the RVR, but im curious to find out just how many things can do the job in a pinch with something a little more readily available. Also damn autocorrects with phone, meant to say lantra alternators, and NL pajero (hard to believe that one myself but im pulling that from all crash parts who sell the same alternator for both lantra and pajero so who knows.

So given that you would assume any genuine alternator found on any of those cars should work.

Those would be for a bare alternator without the reg if that is the case, as i know a few of those have different plugs. Probably the same shell, same guts but you would have to put a reg in them, which for most alternators is the part to die first.

Yes and no, it is good because by theory almost any wreckers should have something to fit. The alternator itself is fairly common, and being a generic 2 pin regulator, im sure 2 to make 1 would be easy enough, RVRs dont require silly amp amounts (i think HSGR is 90 from memory?) 
In theory though, but its good to know we potentially have a lot of options at the local wreckers in a pinch...

After finding the part number I have found three reputable suppliers for factory or OEM equivalency.

These guys have one of the largest OEM new old stock parts list availability I've ever seen. I've picked up some very hard to find parts through them, including the black centre twin air vent console to replace one with broken fins. They can be expensive and a little frustrating when suppliers cancel orders that you place due to stock levels. Not fitinpart's fault exactly but they do have excellent customer service, a very solid returns policy and delivery is exceptionally quick when you use DHL to receive your items

www.amayama.com.au they also have quite a comprehensive database of Mitsubishi RVR parts available. I've found with amayama that again, cancelled orders due to stock levels can be frustrating but part of the game I guess. Customer service is good and will happily refund quickly when things go out of stock.

BTW www.epc-data.com has many schematics and parts details for all the major brands and manufactures. It's my parts Bible.
