I sure have! I just put in a newer gearbox that doesnt crunch in 2-3rd and doesnt pop out of 5th:thumbsup:
OH and I just changed from a (aftermarket) small 16G cartridge to an Evo3 BIG 16G comp cover and cartridge with upgraded 34mm flapper turbine housing (already on car).
It now hits 2nd/3rd and 4th gear 5000rpm (throw me through windscreen:lol:) boost cut (1.5BAR on gauge or 1.4BAR on the EBC/MAP sensor!) Tune tomorrow! (hmm...today)

your car needs a RESPRAY!!!!!!!! :)

:w00t: Well as they say good things come in 3s!

Tonight I went to the drags after talking to this bloke earlier on in the day about going.
He has a Celica GT4 and runs an Adaptronic ECU as well as being installed/tuned by our mutual friend. He beat me last time in mid May! Tonight it was my turn!

I chucked on the 15 Inch Oz Racing Chronos and shitty 3mm tread tyres and did a bit of tweaking on the ecu tune before I left and also took the laptop with me to the drags.

I left late after dinner and a quick tune and drove straight up to scrutineering with no line up in sight this time!

Weather conditions were ideal and freezing for Townsville. (under 20c):P yeah I know.....

Rolled up and reeled off a 12.7@108 with crappy launch, 34psi in the tyres and missed 2nd gear!
I was surprised with the top end and thought it was going to be a good night...

Second run I rolled off a [email protected]! Which broke my previous PB on the second go of all things!

Next run I got a [email protected] which was enough to beat Allister's (SLOGSR) STOCK BOTTOM end 1.8L GSR in Australasia time of 12.42@106mph and knock him off third place!

I started to get excited about low 12's so I started dumping air from the tyres and upping the boost level and the boost cut. But previous to that, I was also logging the runs to see how the boost was holding up. I found out that I wasn't hitting the boost targets for that I was expecting and still nowhere near the boost cut I have on the street! The 1 sec overboost was set at 230kpa (130 gauge or 18.8psi) and hard boost cut at 240kpa (140kpa 20.3psi). I was only hitting a max of 220pka occasionally.

I set the boost cut figures 10kpa higher (240/250kpa) and then twigged the wastegate settings on the EBC 5 points higher on each 500rpm in the 4000-7000 rpm range.
Unfortunately the inverter plugged into the cars cigarette lighter wasn't enough to keep the laptop going and that was the end of that tune....so I just went for runs..

Next run netted me a [email protected].
From there I just kept lowering my tyre pressures and getting comfortable in my launch pattern/60ft times and gear shifts.

Best run for the night was [email protected] and the highest MPH for the night was 110.29
The GT4 ran a PB of 12.36@112mph and we were both chuffed!
So 3 milestones for tonight:

PB ET
PB MPH
Took 3rd place in STOCK BOTTOM END 1.8L GSR in Australasia Record(OZ/NZ)

I also took time out tonight to use my thermocouple to test out my cooler piping in 3 key locations.

J pipe over manifold, pipe just after the cooler and just before the TB.

After a few runs with the bonnet up and car parked and engine off, I was getting 50c for the top of the J pipe over manifold near the silicone bend, 22c-25c after the cooler (very good considering the ambient 18-20c in the air), and a spread of 35-40c before the TB. I assume a bit of heatsoak with those temps slowly rising.

I am looking to set up a few permanent sensors in those locations and a digital screen so I can check the temps just after a run and have it switchable between the 3. I will also be looking at heatwraping the j pipe again and possibly the last of the pipe from the gearbox to the TB just to lower temps further. Then there is the water/meth injection kit that I have:)

Pic of timeslip below and Ill have to get the videos of the runs put up somehow!
Enjoy..............

Thanks guys!

Looking at semis now, or something close for both drags and the sprints/hill climb.
Probably KU36's at the price they are ATM! (also deciding factor will be asymetrical tread, not directional)

Also need front bushes for the entire setup.

How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.
