Well shit, its been AGES since I updated so here goes!
As suspected it ran the big end bearing in number 2. The car is sitting in a paddock on my grandparents farm where I work on it Currently devoid of engine and drivetrain. The latter which was ripped out as a temporary replacement for my mates Evo powered 4WD Mirage (92 shape) when his gearbox shat itself the day before drags! That gearbox was later sold off to SLOGSR to rebuild, he tends to go through em
Put it this way some engines have it in them from the start some dont. I know of a few freaky 4G63's (7bolts) who have run almost 120mph on stock conrods and pistons! If you see these pistons and rods youd know why people often opt for the aftermarket items!
Its really not a matter of if it can power a 12 sec pass, its a matter of how long it can do it for. Jarred was pushing his car fairly hard and i guess at the end it decided to go.
Ive seen the bent rod that came out of Mannys car, which is now Ollys car. It was on 15psi and it bent the stock 4G93 conrod like a banana and this car only EVER ran one 12.9 sec pass until Olly owned it. Hence why now it has forged rods in the bottom end.
Anyways, im going to stop going off topic but thought id ad my opinion and my view from experience of seeing these motors in action.. hanging around AFAS too much id say lol...
Good luck with it Dane!!! I hope you do crack a 12.. even a 12.999 would be still classed as a 12 sec car
Jon
PS: if it goes bang.. drop in the 4G63

well done.. your pulling decent mph.. it should be in the low 13s.. what are your mid track speeds like? 8.7 at say 80mph?
no offence but i think a high 12 from a stock 93 motor is abit optimistic.. but ive never done it before.. i hope you prove me wrong tho.
keep up the good work.
Jon
Well Jon that time has come to prove you wrong.
Just got home from the biggest Townsville drag meet of the year!
King of the Hill!
97 entries this year  Took ages to get runs in and very hard to DYO times too.
First run of the night with the new $30 Turbotech boost controller installed(set to 15psi) and heat wrapped intercooler pipe(the one over the manifold) netted me a [email protected]!
Keep in mind it was 32 DEG C at the time
Next run i backed it up with a 1.801 60ft for a [email protected]
Was about 9:30pm when it was really starting to cool down Read: 25-27 with high humidity. Townsville
Ran a PB of [email protected]!!
1.732 60FT
0.799 RT Shithouse  But what do you expect when youre trying to win $1000 first prize!!
DYO racing at its best
So anyway im the happiest person in the world not to win $1000
Thanks to my pit crew for keeping me fed, watered, entertained while waiting in the line-ups:> Ruth, Josh and Dodgy Dave OH and for bringing me the timeslips and keeping my intercooler cool
Bring on winter in 7 months! Low 12's high 11's?

I've seen this dragstrip and to be honest, my local airport has better tarmac than it.
I wonder what will happen if you get it out to a world class track like WSID.
