nice finger prints trademark on the engine hoist

LOL Wouldnt want my garage as a crime scene:p WAY too many fingerprints in there.

*UPDATE*

As you all know ive been putting in a shitload of hours and research into this thing and I havn't slept much thats for sure.

Engine and gearbox are bolted up, as is most of the rest of the remaining gear. (Except for the transfer and exhaust as I really need to degrease the transfer and im lazy atm:p...Ill do it tomorrow)

I removed the stock 1.8L water/oil cooler because its a pain, the hoses leak water, I have an external anyway and I wanted the oil hoses a bit further away from the dump pipe. So I took it off and measuered the length of the oil cooler bolt needed to mount the relocator on and also enough to contact the block surface firmly, with the bolt wedged against the blocks bolt hole.
I got the fitter at work to cut it off to my specifications and turn a new part of the same thread on it with about 4mm of neutral/threadless section to contact the block AND allow the relocator a chance to grab the block surface. Pics below will help....

I also wanted to remove the pesky front P/S cooler wire loop from the front, as it fouled on the Evo8 cooler, so I pissed it off and found a small little external cooler at a mates autotrans shop.
I just pulled out the loop and cut it short and added the awesome red hose (spot the theme colour:p) and mounted it up with some aluminium strips, painted lightly black.

Im also seriously thinking of pulling the intercooler off and painting it matt black to match both oil coolers:). What do you guys reckon? Im thinking yes:D

I have to pull it back off to mount the 2, 12 inch slimlines that I want to run as pull types, in front of the aircon condensor anyway.

With the Evo8 cooler I have to modify the cooler pipes slightly to match a different route which is basically the same with the cool side going under the chassis instead of through the radiator side support cut out(bigger cooler and different pipe exits). Lucky I had bought some Zenar Racing straight silicone in 2 and 2.5 Inch 1M lengths;).

Just Jap let me down with some red 2.5inch 90 Deg bends that I paid for ( appart from other stuff) but they turned out to be out of stock. I got a great refund from them and basically got the postage for free and ended up buying some Zenar Racing ones for $2 cheaper with free post anyway.....

Heres some pics if they fit on this post:

Also got the brakes the other day:)

LOL :D

The shorter the lengths of hose you have to use the better IMO.

Cool side cooler piping is done and the rest of the powersteering lines are on and PS pump bolted up now.
All the belts still need to be done....

Got the Transfercase all dry after painting it up nice to get rid of the rust and just to make it look better(fuck knows why I had paint left over:p), so just need to mount that and the brackets later this week.

Sorted out my oil cooler pipes so they wont rub by adding bits of hose on all the rub points.:)
Test fitted the ASI radiator today with the bubble wrap still on(tsk tsk finger prints:p) and it just slots right in no worries at all! Even the aircon hardline "P" Clamp bolts in the stock spot. Ill pull the bubble wrap off and fit it later after I have the twin thermo fans in, just so I can see how to mount them properly on the outside of the aircon condensor!

Can anyone recommend a brand of slimline 12 inch fans? ICE/Spal Etc...Much of a muchness? Opinions on the matt black intercooler painting? Cooling loss/ types of paint etc...Will Acrylic be fine?

After the thermo fans and radiator are in, i'll fix up the hotside piping which will need to be cut a little so it matches up with the New Evo8 cooler!

Then it will be adding all oils and fluids, bleeding the clutch, drain the remaining fuel out of the tank and adding 10L of fresh 98! OH and better chuck in the CV shaft into the gearbox too:p OHH and charge the battery again:p. Then......

Jeez...I better write a list I suppose:D

*Update 9/5/09*

Cars been running for a few weeks now.
Ive put on the amount of KMs I wanted before dropping the oil and filter out just after I put the newer engine back in.
Placed new 10w/50 Valvoline SYN power fully synthetic in the system. Castrol Syntrans in the drivetrain, new power steering fluid and coolant:D

Few problems to Iron out still but nothing too serious.
Namely Blowing cooler pipes everytime I hit 1.2 BAR spike :P

I would double and triple clamp the joiners with normal hose clamps:blink: and I thought I had it until ANZAC Day Morning on the way to the dawn service, when it was cool, and it spiked to 1.3 Bar as I changed into 4th on the ring road...POP Buuuuurrrrrrrr...BUGGER!!!

Problem was the amount of joiners on the coolside near the gearbox after I changed to an Evo7,8,9 cooler. I had to add another joiner and 18cm worth of 2.5 inch stainless.
So Ive gone to T-BOLT Clamps now and gotten that pipe welded, with beads welded to the edges of the pipes!
(YES..you told me so DAN :P)

:fuuuuu: WHAT? Am I chopped liver or something???

Do I have to move my members rides thread to private to get anyone to look at it?:P

ANYWAY: I got some cheap Kumho KU31 Ecsta the other day off option garage, who are having a Massive Kumho tyre sale!

$118 each for 4 x 215/40/17's +$33 delivery per pair!
Retail is $280 Each!

The plan is to fit them to my Tarmacs, but I think I want to get them re-powdercoated first, I mean they are going to be my cruising rims so I want them looking their hottest!
So i'll be off tomorrow looking for somewhere in Townsville who does it.;)

That being said, I have a fair few things I still want done to the car, but having a little one now may take a bit longer:blink:

Short term Plans:

Fit the Teins. DONE
Fit the Brakes after they are rebuilt. Braided lines.DONE
Get the Tarmacs powdercoated and the tyres fitted.DONE
Fit slicks to the 15's for track duties.DONE
Fit the LSD rear diff I have here.
Dyno Tune/check/power run with current setup (stage 1) before the next stage. Est.170-190KWATW from 1.0-1.3 BAR (I hope) DONE 190KW
Run over 110MPH.DONE
Fit Evo front seats.DONE
Fit 4 point harness.
Start stage 2 Engine build.
Blow up engine and put in the forged engine:P(depending on the upcoming setup change)

Long term Plans:

Stage 3 Engine build.
Fit Evo Guards and the E3 bar.
Respray.
All new bushes throughout.DONE
Swaybars.DONE
Front and rear Strut brace.DONE
Change to a newer Alarm.

Thats it for now.

I will put more pics up as they come to hand
