Just Paint em Buddy, it will be as good or better and most likely cheaper. Arent 205's what you want I think the 215's are too big diameter?

Dont you need to get them sandblasted first anyway, I might as well get them powdercoated while im there?

205/55/15 V's 215/40/17 The difference is that the package is 8 mm (0.3'') closer to suspension/brakes components, will stick out 2 mm (0.1'') closer to the guards and when the speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 59.7mph (96.1km/h): 0.5% slower. I will have an extra 10mm footprint! I can live with that:D

Problem is the offset! With the 205/55/15 on the OZ Chronos (+35?) it touched/touches both of the rear trailing arms! On the drivers side the tyres touch the spring as well! I have really buggered alignent as well with the eccentric bolts at the rear looking way out of place!

Im thinking of getting a professional place look at the alignment for me. (read not just a tyre joint) Fulcrum seem the go in town as they also service and sell Teins;)

Im thinking that they rubbing is happening when the tyre is flexing OR when the tyres are underinflated becuase of how the tyres sit out/bulge when they are. Reason is the clearance is there now as it is at the moment and it doesnt touch at all!

So with the offsets i did a quick search and i couldnt find a definitive answer about the 15 and 16 inch OZ Chronos (+35?) and the 17 inch Enkei tarmacs (+40?). This will give me the information to input into the tyre calculator and check my clearances and also sticky the info on the forum for everyones quick reference! :)

On another note, while i have the car up high on jack stands ive got the brake calipers, discs and the lines off so i can put the new braided lines on and overhauled FTO/ Evo 1,2,3 Twinpots! Im also going to quit stuffing around and fit the Tein monoflex coilovers while im at it! :D

I got a nice supprise when my race seats turned up out of the blue this arvo!

Ill chuck all of the pics up later, but lets see who can name what the seats are first!

Ill put up a little peice of them for you.

DAN shutup!:P:D

Dane-o, the OZ chronos are +45, and i am running 215 width tires with no rubbing issues??

The tarmacs should be +40 I think?

I have a fair few things I still want done to the car, but having a little one now may take a bit longer:blink:

Short term Plans:

Fit the Teins. Check. Dropped 2-3cm front. 1.5-2cm rear in height. Dropped the space between guards and tyres up to 6cm
Fit the Brakes after they are rebuilt. Braided lines. Check
Get the Tarmacs powdercoated and the tyres fitted.
Fit slicks to the 15's for track duties.
Fit the LSD rear diff I have here.
Dyno Tune/check/power run with current setup (stage 1) before the next stage. Est.170-190KWATW from 1.0-1.3 BAR (I hope) Roadtune/check up complete 11.3-11.8 AFR Check. Dyno run for power soon.
Run over 110MPH.
Fit Evo front seats. One fitted...waiting for Evo seatbelts.
Fit 4 point harness.
Start stage 2 Engine build.
Blow up engine and put in the forged engine:P(depending on the upcoming setup change)
I will put more pics up as they come to hand:thumbsup:

Few more things getting done above.

Went to the drags last Sat night for a go...first time in over a year.
The Teins really stop the car from lifting off the ground, its sooo different:w00t:. I havnt really got them setup properly yet though.
I was getting so much wheel spin and flat launch that I was missing second gear most of the time because it ramped up so quick! Also 2nd to 3rd is very crap and synchro's are really bad! Might have to invest into some nice semis! (OH and a new box!)

Best run was the very first one at [email protected] Running 1.2 Bar. I did however hit a new PB. 60FT of 1.726. I did hit 108MPH on a run but I have a bit of a miss/breaking down at 5500-6500RPM in 3rd and a touch in 4th:huh:, which is disapointing as I wanted to hit 110MPH for the first time!

Checked the plugs and they looked ok apart from the gaps opening up to about .85mm instead of 0.65mm that I wanted them at. I havn't checked it out on the road since, however im thinking of changing to magnacore from Top Gun to see how I go.

The brakes have bed in really well and I have since re-bled them again and they pull up really well after 108MPH!:w00t:
The amount of dust is the only thing I really dont like!

Nice work Dane, its coming along nicely. Perhaps when you sort out the box and fit the rear LSD diff in you'll reach your goal :) Was it missing high rpm from the plugs?

Thanks. I did re-gap them as soon as I had them out.
Naah...I just use good old normal plugs and change them every time I do the oil/filter. They are cheap enough as it is.

What? Do you two brothers have jedi mind reading powers that makes you both look at the same thread at the same time:P:D

I hope so Rob, as above I'm guessing that was the problem, but like I said, I havn't had a chance to re-check the theory yet.

Top gun's are rubbish! Ive had 2 new sets on my car now and both are useless, car breaks down on boost or completley cuts out. I sent the first set back and they remade another set in there top of the line ones, garbage! Put the shitty old magnecore's back on and it runs perfectly.
