Hi all,

Have just addressed the issue of fixing my engine mounts and now the engine is sitting how it should,

Problem being I cannot close the bonnet as the timing cover hits when it is almost shut, I have been told I could place some spacers on the hinges so it will close but be at an angle (told that by the place i bought the evo mounts from) or hunt down an evo/cc gsr bonnet..

Any help would be great thanks guys.

Am not fussed by colour as the car is going to be painted soon. I have chosen to go with electric orange which is the ford focus xr5 orange colour.. your thoughts?

Sedan bonnets dont fit the coupe mate

Only way to get the bonnet to clear is to do a few things

Regardless of what you do, you need to cut the brace

1 is throw about 10mm washers under the hinges so it raises the rear up

Or if you have a good panel beater they can make a hump in the bonnet

Or you cold do what i did and cut a hole in the bonnet lol

Ok, so if i cut the braces which my mechanic said would most certainly have to happen... and place the spacers in then it should clear fine.. Not really sure if i want to cut holes in the bonnet yet..

What do u think about the colour selection mate??

No offence, but bright orange always reminds me of the original "Fast & the Furious" Supra with the big-ass winged arm graphic down the side.

Is that more of a burnt orange? Or is it just the light in the photo?

When Flyboy11 said "Electric orange" I thought he meant a really fluorescent type orange.

The orange on that coupe is the Ford Focus orange

Yes that is the orange.. It is not a bright stick in ur face and blind u orange.. I like it and may still go with it.. there is a light blue that i am considering also..

I like that blue but the one i am thinking is the one that the 2007 onwards mazda 3 came with.. it is almost like a sky blue with silver through it. Looks great in the sun also.

There's another coupe down this way that has a similar kind of color, I think it's the Toyota camry/ echo silvery blue, if you search for SUBZRO lancer it prob come up

i have a bonnet off a CC sedan you can have!

but they dont fit the coupe!

but you could of had it for nothing! it is just there holding up the fence!
bit like a big ant house!
