I am chasing a suitable gearbox for my cc lancer coupe and relevant bits to make it all work well.
I am not sure if it is the vr4 box I need or the gsr gearbox?? It is a vr4 motor. Also what crossmember and driveshafts will i require??
Anything else?? Anyone got bits that I may need that they wish to sell??
Cheers
Dan

If answer is yes I used lancer cc 1.5 gearbox coz it means u keep the sameengine mounts for the car plus same cross member.
Alternativly if u want something stronger go the lancer gsr gearbox. It's a bit more work coz u need to change kframe and matching cross member to that of a lancer gsr. Plus hydraulic clutch conversion. I did it on the weekend. Gearbox will need a lockspline so it doesn't run awd. But it's not hard. If ur in melbs I can give u a hand.
The other thing with the motor is the engine side mount. To make it fit properly go to www.meek.com.au or call them on (02)97691576. Ask for part numbers 327 and 328. They r a two price angina mount. I recommend doing it before the engine goes in coz it's very tight under there. I think both for 390$ they are asking.
The only other thing I can think of is simply the way u wire in the loom anything else just drop me a line

They are engineered on my GSR, so they are legal & strong enough to do the job.
I'll be using an RVR auto in the GSR Lancer later, so I won't be using those mounts.

I have a pair of offset mounts that go from the GSR rail to the front of the motor & transfer case for the rear one if you need them.

What mounts do u use if ur putting the ggsr gearbox in. Coz the mounts for that set up are on the engine not the box. They won't line up with the cross member. Just double checking coz I had that problem originally with the ggsr. That's why I went with the 1.5L cc box and later the lgsr box
he said it's a vr4 motor. the mounts for a vr4 motor are on the block not the gearbox. the lancers have the mount on the gearbox.

But as advised, once you want to fit an AWD gearbox in your existing FWD arrangement you need an AWD K-frame and crossmember.
Then if you're wanting the AWD gearbox converted to FWD, you will need a 2WD locking spline.
You can use the existing FWD driver's side cv shaft.
You can use either the existing FWD (single long piece) passenger side cv shaft, OR an AWD (2-piece) passenger cv shaft which bolts to the back of the engine block.

And it's going into a Lancer Craig so I would guess he needs mounts on the box dude.
my understanding of it is that the motor is already in the car, hence why I suggested the GGSR box. if the motor is already in then the mounts would already be in and on the block.
However if the motor isn't in yet then yes I agree that the Lancer GSR box locked in FWD is the way to go.
