Hmm to the above, I dont think just 160km for a test is going to give you a real acurate figure.
You really need to at least have one full cycle, then a back up confirmitory run.
My run is basically to work and back 15-20kms everyday with fairly light to medium traffic with roadworks in between slowing to a crawl at the bottle neck then 40km/h through them. 80-90km/h the rest of the way to and from.
I give it a little stick to get in front of the slower traffic at the lights (as you do).
Heres the kicker: My clutch is shot and slipping, so after the top of 3rd gear im not going anywhere so ive been basically in grandma mode the whole time for months. That combined with the slightly different run to work but with a smoother run has increased my fuel economy. I used to get between 11-12L/100km on the other route.
The other thing is my aftermarket ecu tuned for a cruise AFR of between 15-16:1

Interesting thread.
My GSR gets about 400km (highway driving) and around 340-360km (moderate city driving). Only mods are a 2.5" exhaust and an EVO 3 cooler.
They are fairly economical, considering it is almost 17yrs old.

Usually get around 300-350 stop/start driving, running more boost, 3" exhaust. Got 550 km off a tank once, but that was all freeway driving, gotta love 5th gear.
Usually 1 square on the fuel gauge is about 10L, when its on empty I think there is at least 5L of fuel left, if not more.

I average about 400-450 per tank. Only "mod" is a sports muffler. That being said I only use the GSR once a fortnight on average and it's mixed city and highway driving for moderate distances.

I'm interested in knowing what sort of fuel economy you guys are getting.
In my Evo 1 with a Evo 3 motor, running on 98 ULP, only real mods are exhaust and pod, lightweight flywheel and ebc I have been averaging 9.5L/100km for the last three tanks. That's 100% urban cycle on stock boost level and driving sensibly with a little bit of air con usage.

BTW I fill up to the top and reset my trip meter each time. Divide the litres you had to dispense by the km on the trip meter, times that number by 100 and you have your figure in L/100km.

GSR, RVR engine, E3 16G, Vipec PnP, std injectors
On the fwy, the best I have seen is around 8.5L/100, this varies a lot of things like speed, 100 vs 110, how much hill climbing id done etc. it can blow out too about 9.9L. Around town, its more like 12-15L.
EVO300 - many say 'kms per tank', it doesn't mean much for accuracy

I used to average around 13L/100km with my old motor, same mods same conditions. I think the fresher motor makes a big difference to the economy, as does making sure all the vacuum lines are connected and connected properly.

9.5L/100km is about 25 miles per gallon which is about what I average on the highway cruising at 4k rpms.

The whole per tank think is meaningless unless you run it dry each time.

fuel economy is not really an issue.
but yeah 120 to 150 out of 47 ltrs is about right!
and at $2 a litre is feels like less than that!

i got 420k's out of my last tank, refilled with 36-38lt's for memory which works out around 8-9l/100. Not bad considering i gave it heaps that tank too... But this is a 4g63t in a coupe with 2.5inch turbo back exhaust running 15psi... no other mods at all... Can't wait to get the socketed ecu and put the ecm link in, see if i can get 7 per 100 ...
slowest cc coupe in the build
