4G?T Conversion

I am fairly new to the 4G modifying scene, although some may know me already... been pretty active lately... =P
I have my 95 CC Lancer GL FWD with a 4G15 Carby... i've read that modifying it is a waste of money and time for the little amount of power increase i get so that option is out...
Then i read about the 4G63T and i realli liked the idea... Turbo, Intercooler, AWD, and all that jazz... but i also read that i need alot of parts to convert to a AWD, even to do the engine conversion i seem to need a lot of wiring and looms, etc... I thought about it and seems to be alot of hassle...
Then there's the 4G93T conversion where i get to stay on the FWD but i also get my power and turbo... but then i thought, "what's the point of having a turbo FWD if i can't even take off quickly without having wheel spin??".
My questions are,
1. Should i convert to a 4G63T or 4G93T??
2. How much would it cost me for both??
3. How hard is it to do the conversion??
4. Is it even worth doing the conversion??

2. Depends greatly on what you wanted exactly. Ie fwd only or full awd conversion with the engine transplant
3. Quite full on if your doing the drive train also.
4. Yes, if you want the power. No if you don't. As for fwd/awd. You could try fwd first then upgrade to awd if you feel the need.

so i'd say go and find youself an evo front cut and then go and raid a glxi for all it's fuel gear (except the fuel pump you'll want an evo item for that)

1. yes i want the power... who doesnt?? and i was mainly asking whether to go for the 4G63T or the 4G93T...
2. i dont see the point in a powerful fwd but i was just curious coz i thought it'd be cheaper, but i would prefer a full awd conversion with engine transplant and all that...

with the 4g15 both of the upgrades you have listed are going to be just as involved as the other because they are both an efi conversion from the carby ( so your first decision is are you realy that attached to you gl if not sell it in favour of the glxi it will make any conversions much easier oh and it has more powah)

i just thought that if i did a 4G93T i would have to change my drivetrain and keep it FWD but it all realli depended on the price of things.
Also yes, i am very attached to my GL... it's my first car given to me by my dad who is a mechanic and went through alot of trouble fixing up the engine problems ready for me. i also do understand that its hypocritical of me since he did fix up the engine, and here i am wanting to change it... but power is what i want... my 1.5L carby just doesnt cut it anymore...
an evo half cut is an option but i just want to understand the needs and costs of everything first before i do anythn...

All you need is a front cut, and seeing yours in a GL 1.5 carby, you will need an EFI fuel tank
Its all a basic swap, its just time consuming
I've done a few conversions, all up prob cost around $7000
AWD conversion is the killer
Prob an extra $5000 for an AWD conversion

You could run an AWD box locked to fwd and then when you decide to go awd, just unlock it and use the same box.
Who will be doing the work? That is what will determine your cost...
If they have done it before, it will be quicker and cheaper in that aspect.
If they have not, then you would pretty much be guessing on price.
Are you handy with the tools?

unless you lancer is a truly special car to you.....milkandoj is right in one respect. sell it and buy a gsr. I sold one just yesterday that was converted to VR4 4g63 and has a few goodies as well like evo 3 body lit 15inch wheels briaded lines konis. sold for 8k.
there are few about .......even my brother is selling his {because he now has an evo 1}

that is an idea... but still about 7k... its money i dont want to spend...
dad's a mechanic and has been for 38 years now... so i have my fair share of tool handling...
your better off buying a CC GSR for $5k , there are lots of them and all the turbo and 4wd is already setup , it will just be repairs and mods that you will have to worry about

So I bought my GSR instead. And now its even more of a money pit lol. Having said that, im not that mechanically minded.
Given your above comments, if you're looking at it from the perspective of achievement, adventure and something to keep you occupied for a few years I say go for it if you have the nouse and eagerness to do it.

I have made a list like u and i agree... i wouldnt mind gettin a gsr but i dont want to sell my GL... but no matter wat i car i buy... its always gonna be a money pit... we're grease monkeys... and we love it...
i do want that sense of achievement, an adventure is fun, the experience will be good, but at the price its gonna cost me along with the results im gonna get... not worth it...
i think i might just pass up on the whole idea of doing the conversion... it just seems like too much of a hassle... along with all i've said and wat i want to do...
i'll just save up for my FD3S... =] As for the plans now... i'll continue modifying the looks... i can always have a nice looking car ryt?? =P
One last thing... is there anythn i can do at least give my 4G15 a lil power boost but for a reasonable price that is worth doing?? i no about the pod and i no i need to get the adaptor... but is it worth it?? how bout exhaust, etc. ?

Each to their own, but id suggest focusing on the above, rather then pouring $$ into a GL Lancer. If you really must have a turbocharged lancer, you could always get rid of your GL and pickup something turn key ready to go for next to nothing these days.. Seems to be a few CC lancers on Evocoupe with 93t or 63t conversions already... even GSR's as low as 4k.
Reality is, CC Lancers really arent worth much anymore. You'll pour X amount of dollars and in the end, could have probably picked up a genuine Evo!....

The plans were to use the wagon 93t turbo on the coupe, but things changed and i bought an evo2 front cut, and was just gonna leave it FWD and give it a nice show look
Until i spun my big end bearing and had to rebuild the engine... so after spending around 20k in total on it, i knew even if i was gonna sell it i wont get the $$ back, so i pulled my finger out and decided to AWD it
If i knew this is what i was gonna do back in 2005 after the acco, i would have just bought a GSR or something
My suggestion is if the car is standard at the moment and it hasn't got any sentimental value, sell it and buy something like a GSR, or save up and buy the car you want, there's no point modifying the car if your gonna sell it in the end
I'll be keeping my car for a long time, well my son has already claimed it as his own lol, i'm actually looking for a EVO7 GTA for the MRS

either:
a) put on a evo3 style kit and keep it as a daily. or
b ) sell it and buy a GSR/evo.
You will not be able to effectively and competently convert the GL to '63t awd for under $10,000.
