I am actually going to buy a new one. Just figured at the time, I was better focusing my funds on other things, such as my engine setup etc, and have since purchased an evo 6.5 as well.

Which for those interested, I'll have pics of the engine setup within the next two weeks. Undercarriage is now detailed also, so its almost finished... bout time too

Yeah, basically the FP3065, is a GT3040(or GT3082). the 65 is the flow rate of the compressor wheel, 65lbs/min.

The exhaust housing is fp's design, cast in stainless steel, truly is a nice piece of gear.

The comp cover is a port shroud design, which expands the compressor map somewhat and gives a better surge threshold.

I do have a full GT35R as well, but after alot of research and much thought, decided the FP3065 was better suited to my requirements. Will find out for certain in a few weeks once its up and running.

VERY VERY nice. Good to see some awesome projects coming along. Its all abit, inspiring :P

I like where FP use the watsegate, directly onto the exhaust housing. The best place/way to control boost.

The FP exhaust housing is what sold me on the turbo. I really didnt want to make the engine bay look butchered, being a genuine E3, so having a turbo that can flow that much, plus retain the standard turbo manifold and all heatshielding was a major plus. Also looks sweet all polished.

Now just a matter of gettin the engine back in, and see what this combination can achieve. :D

Nice. Have you considered the GTpumps EVO copy manifold? They look like they flow ALOT more than the stock manny, good for spool up :D:D

and power!!!

this things going to be a machine, like i said before its very inspiring!!

when do you think she'll be all up and running??

Hey Dre

Yeah, have considered the manifold, but am not sure of clearance of the wastegate with the GT pumps manifold. From my understanding the GT pumps manifold is larger in most areas, which could cause fitment issues with the tial gate. I have a friend with one, so i'll measure it and check. My E3 manifold has been ported and ceramic coated, so I will prob stick with it anyways.

I will have it running in about 3 weeks. It should have incredible midrange, which is what the entire setup has been designed around, as i didnt want to have to rev it over 8000rpm to make hp. Basically the aim is 400hp@wheels on pump fuel. If it achieves it like this, I'll be wrapped, as I could of gone alot larger cams, and custom inlet etc, but to be honest, its main goal is to be fun on the street, yet capable of a high 10 second pass.

If it doesnt make it, well I have all the goods here to get it there, bar the intake manifold, but from past experience, I believe everything is in place to reach it. Fingers crossed.

you will get 400hp figure easy. i used this turbo set up on my old set up...
got 253kw on 20psi atw. the only thing that was restricting power was the standard inlet manifold so we didn't push it harder.

you will love this turbo, it has power/response that is perfect for a street car.

Hey did you ever drive this thing round the coast much in stock trim?
One went past my place few months ago, maybe more, looked the same, and sounded throaty,it literally put the diff on the road as it accelated...

Nice car dude

Good to see the 4g63 with some major application done to it...Too many people go straight to a Rb26 or a 2J for power

long live the evo/galant..

This is the same turbo crossam is putting on his car. When installed it's going to be used in conjucntion with a gtpumps manifold that he's got sitting next to the turbo aswell. How do i know it's the same turbo....cause he bought it off 3diamonds :D
Glorified boost junkie. If at first you don't suceed, drink till you forget you tried.

Yeah mate, drove it round for about 4-6 weeks, cant recall actually. Mind you only for 3 days when it was totally stock. The rest of the time, was with the full respray, new interior, suspension, wheels etc. It never went that well as the engine was hurt when i bought it. (3 broken pistons). But still enough to destroy a mates 05 sti.

Its almost finished now, just havent had as much time as id like with it as i work long hours. But id say 3-4 weeks max and it will be back.

Only thing that will restrict it is the stock inlet manifold, but ive been assured by the man John Shepherd himself that it flows enough to get me to around 130-135mph in a car of this weight. So yeah, time will tell. Just havent wanted to change the inlet due to wanting to keep all the stepper motor gear etc, after all it is a street car.
