what is you rev limit set to sam? I am looking at some better valve springs for the 93 I am building. They should be good for 8750....they have a good bottom end...as good as a 4age and they will run 9500 with careful building.

Yep I know it will run out of puff up there but could at least run across the line in 4th


Rev limit currently set to 8200, My springs are from RPW... cant remember the brand...

Current Turbo's compressor map is good for 28psi all the way to 9000rpm... but yeah I did hit the limiter in 4th on the first run for the night

In a GSR thats 205KM/H at the top of 4th at 7500 on the dot! :o (205KM/H= 127MPH too) so that speed is good for low to mid 11's B)
Was that BEFORE the line or WAYYYYYY before the line?

Well before the line.. but that was with the 14's on (evo 3 drivetrain), no not that fast, rolling diametre is a bit smaller...

With the 17's on (last turbo) in 4th crossing the line at 117mph at under 8000rpm

Yes I am conservatively aiming for a mid 11 (will be happy with that).

Ha, good to see "EVLGRL" there (not from this forum) she did a 12.7 that I saw as her first run eva!

It certainly was a test n tune night for me, problems galore... no P.B achieved more like a W.B (worst best, lol).. including psteer belt split...

I'll be back for more punishment and hopefully a new P.B :)

Ok Ok update,

Im still chasing my tail, No PB yet, engine is popping and cracking as detailed before, my wide band AFR meter has sh*t itself and the replacement has been delayed from the US :( not happy..
I should take it to "the dyno"... I am running out of patients...

I have noticed I get the best 60 ft time launching at 5500 rpm compared to ANYTHING higher..

Update: Im chasing some FIC injectors and biting the dyno bullet.....
has been 4+ years since its been on one, performance to date has been via "self tuning" with the appropriate "tools and meters and software"...

Have you played with the spark plug gaps, as i turn the boost up on my car Ive needed to lower the plug gap, or it crackles just like you describe. Pretty common on the tuning forums i read to.

The denser charge makes more resistance for the spark to jump. So smaller gap works, and if you end up having to go too small better ignition.

I went from 0.8 gap down to 0.7mm gap in 0.05 increments. Worked like a charm.

Yep, ive been down the path of gaps and plug types before....

I'm running "IRITOPS" gapped right down, and this sorted the crackling...

its pulling timing now above 25psi and about 6K, the data log shows the air volume stalls just before the timing is pulled, so my first pick is to change the solid intake pipe from the airflow meter to the turbo.

Even though it will provide some "cold air", it's not intentional, the indicator light fell out last Tuesday night driving..

But i've already located and purchased one from a fellow member on here (from brisvegas).

Yeah, i've got a video camera though historically prefer more than one to capture that elusive PB hehe...

edit.. haha, you mean if I need a indicator light for wednesday, you have one for me to borrow right..?
maybe, I will try to contact them tomorrow. I wont get the one from brisbane till later in the week..
