I might be way behind the times here, but has anyone thought of using CE ECU's in CC/GSR/EVO1-3's as a project.
I have done a fair bit of swapping of these things and it's not all that hard.
I imagine it would be good to have a standard flashable ECU for the earlier series Lancers.

Didnt know about these as I'm a post 1996 owner.
Not really the same as using a standard unmodified Mitsu ECU and ecuflash but I was just asking the question as there must be millions of ECU's at the wreckers these days.
I guess using CE ECU's may be another option for those wanting a low cost option.
Just putting it out there.

Evo 4. Would that run an Evo 3 being a different gen. Can anyone confirm. I have had alot of offers.
You could probably rewire to get it to run but it's not flashable so no point.

so evo 4 ecu is not worth anything ay?
Umm, good if you have an EVO 4.
I have a couple of 1997 GSR ecu's that are probably the same pcb's but tuned for a 1.8L and only that.
Hence the TME ecu's.
Awhile ago got my tuner to tune an EVO VI ecu in a GSR for 120kw but had to put it back in the VI but a good exercise nevertheless.

$200 delivered seems to be a fair price to me for an e-promed EVO ECU IMO.
There's no real differences between any of the E1-3 ECUs. What will matter is what sensors you have on your engine. You're better off using all EVO wiring and EVO sensors and EVO ECU if you want the best chance of it starting and running like stock.

I know it is a very very good deal. The motor I have us a vr4 block with Evo 3 head and wiring.

If you're using EVO wiring (and EVO sensors?) then get an EVO ECU.

FYI To get a fresh Evo 1-3 ECU done is $385.00.
Evo 7 ECU otherwise is the way to go. Pretty rare to come across though. and will prob cost more than your current small budget
Personal experience is save for the best or you'll be paying a lot more later

Ive heard from various sources now.
That people have cracked the evo ecus.
Meaning u can now run dual maps on evo 5-9 ecus where as before you could not run them on 5/6. (not 100% sure if it would apply to evo 1- 3 but ask around)
Maybe look into it further, might be easier and cheaper to get a 5/6 ecu...
Just putting it out there
