I was that jealous of geo&kez and their progress. So I have dropped my short block down at pinjarra for its initial inspection and for the crank to be crack tested and polished.
It is a standard bore block at 87.5 so hoping it is good enough for +20 and crack free

Yep, the 2.4 g4cs.
Maybe it was 86.5... I didnt write it down or anything. My bislexia plays up sometimes.

If the block is no good I have a 2.0 6bolt block for the crank to go in
I was waiting for the ute to be going but the mrs said to chuck it in the back of the hyundai and stop dicking around. Yay for the mrs.

Crank is magnafluxed and polished. No problems there.
Block is still in the tank getting scrubbed. Heres hoping it will suit +20 overbore

Crank is uncut and flawless.
Block is virgin and will suit 020 bore.

Thinking manley rods and wiseco pistons, (old faithfuls)
Stud girdle, arp main and head bolts, bse, acl race bearings, ported ofh.

What else for the block?

seal inside with armature paint to help with oil drag.......I prefer to use kings bigend bearing as being alluminium they are more forgiving if there if knock or a spun being. also prefer CP pistons because od recent issue with 4g93 pistons ....but cr is higher compared to wiseco

Yea right. Im on phone nearly 2000k from my shed...

Cp only make 87mm piston in 2g pin size (4g64).
So if im dying to run them I will need the 'Frankenstein' rods. 6bolt big ends and 7bolt small ends...

Am very keen to follow this build thread, I'm thinking I'll hold onto my G4CS block now and build it up someday. Am even thinking of dropping the whole engine/gearbox setup 6mm to compensate for the taller block deck height and still be able to close the EVO bonnet comfortably. Would be good for Centre Of Gravity......

We got heaps of irish 457 workers here. It hasnt taken long for them to work out what sunburn cream is for. Lol.
Only 36 here today, and we had a cloud yesterday.

That was my plan too. A couple of 6mm plates made up to drop the engine and box down. I was going to find out how close the 63 is to the evo bonnet before hand. Surely there is some clearance there. It looks a heap more bulged than a gsr bonnet.

I reckon hang onto the g4cs. Yours is only the 2ndone I have seen for sale. Buy a g4cp from a sonata and use the crank and head. Buy some wiseco and some 156mm rods... woo hoo

This..... have been thinking of 2.6l goodness......

All this stuff about stroker engines not revving out, my 2.3 goes just fine on the track.
