W2a radiator mounted and almost plumbed.
And inter cooler hot and cold side nearly done. I love how short the piping is. Less than 1/2m all up. Hot side tapers from 35mm output from turbo to 76mm into the cooler then coldside tapers back from 76mm to 65mm to go into tb. All gradual changes and no steps. Overkill for a 93t but hopefully big enough for a 2.4

I got a couple of the pwm modules from ebay. A small 10amp one and a 20a one. Im thinking the 10a one maybe can run the intercooler pump and fan. Im thinking that if I remove the knob on the pwm module and replace it with a temp gauge sender (or similar) then the fan and pump will run faster as the water warms up. Im thinking it should be flat out at around 50*? Any thoughts?

The 20a one will run the fuel pump when the ecu is on the low pump setting. I will set it to (say) 50% duty so as not to over run the fpr. This will replace the resistor box that the evo use and is a much more efficient arrangement

I will still need a ssr (solidstaterelay) to run the variable radiator fan speed.

What PWM modules did you get?
Also what SSR are you running?

OEM EVO8 SSR works well for rad fan.
You can actually purchase a PWM controller designed to work with your radiator and independant temp sensors.

Otherwise you would use a PWM output on your ecu.

Just got some ebay cheapies from china. $30 for both. They have the volume knob on them. I will just replace it with a resister as required for the pump and a sender for the w2a setup. Change a few resistors on the board to get it the way I want.
Yep, you could run off a pwm output from the ecu. I thought about a evox ecu with 2 extra pwm (mivec outputs) but it is hard to retrofit an the immobilizer is canbus and I couldnt find if I can defeat it.
I think the rear o2 heater will be a spare pwm output for me.
Im sure there is kits but im sure they are more than I want to spend.

I havent got the ssr yet. I thought about the factory one (I think it bolts on the back of the fan?) It seems lots of mitsi have it. I would like one that looks like a normal relay. Maybe from a toyota or something else?

Well its going now.
It spat a coil and did a driver ic inside the ecu. Fixed them both now. Also couple of faults like no battery light on dash, so I used that opportunity to throw in a gti dash thats been sitting here for a while.
Also it was leaking brake fluid from rear slave cylinder so replaced that and bled all brakes for a much better pedal now.
Given it a wax and its looking shite and briney now...

Also I have cut up the wreck so will get the rear cut upside down and in shed ready to dummy up diff install

Yea. No worries. I will be a while I think. Nothing happens fast around here. Should only have mods around spring hangers, bump stops and notches in chassis rails.
I was thinking about a matching trailer fot the ute. Dunnoif I will get around to it tho.
You pprobably wont break it anyway?

Yea, man its tight... I havent wired the pump yet and I havent put the temp gauge on it yet either. But it hasnt done anything real hard so far and its full of water and plumbed.
My laptop with ecmlink is at work still so I cant do much other than cruise about. But thats ok, just good to have wheels again.

Gti dash is in, now I have handbrake light, alt light but fuel gauge is intermittent, grrr. It will have to come back out for a look. Also reverse lights was a loose plug on gearbox.
Was overboosting too and hitting the cut. So I put the factory boost solonoid back in and removed the hks evc3.

Economy figures in 98% highway/freeway distance 371km. Took 37.3 litres to fill up....BUT. speedo is out nearly 10% (on speed and distance) slow so im going to call it 400km.
So that 10.7 km/l or 9.3l/100km or 25mpg...

Will confirm trip error with gps next time out

Sick of my bench being cluttered with these brakes for the last 18 months. ..
So got busy and this one is nearly ready for trial fit.
My99 wrx 4spots on 295mm magna rotors.
They should fit if I mill off the subaru writing. Might be a job to paint it with some left over pot belly paint in matt black.

My pet troll is rofl. A mitsi powered proton needs subaru brakes to stop it...

Grr calipers dont fit. I have mocked this up but it seems the hub I used is BENT. I should have checked as you can see what is left of the rim. Its fairly obvious in hindsight.
Caliper just touches back of wheel spokes. If I used 320mm rotors would have been fine.
Not sure what im going to do yet. Either take a bit off the caliper or maybe the back of the rims.
