i got a evo style bar cheap even though i hate the big light cut outs, but still had to cut it a bit for the front of radiator pipe. dunno about a grille tho, cause it wont fit and its only new so dont want to cut it up.

plan is to run a water to air cooler and put the standard bar back on for the stealthy look.

could have used the jummy passenger side driveshafts but wanted the centre shaft one and even length shafts. used the drivers side jummy shaft, no problems. also i couldnt get the cv off the shaft for me to even think about swapping the outers over.
today was fitting the evo bar mostly and between the fingers are itchy from grinding fibreglass.
more tomorrow.

mandrels arrived in fine time. have fitted the gsr fuel tank. it involved flaring the end of the fuel line to be able to bolt up to the flex hose on the tank. loom is different. havent investigated that yet and will need to look at plug in car to figure it out.

have done the exhaust. was a sedan 3" stainless system. just chopped it off at rear of fuel tank then swapped and cut pipe as needed to go up and over rear axle. tried to leave plenty of room for when i get a rear diff. didnt actually need the mandrels as there was enough pipe and bends. fired up the tig and stuck it all together. certainly better with the tig now i have finished. in fact i think it took me longer to fix the holes from the first 10 mins of welding than to weld the pipe once i got it going good. bit burnt on the chest where the shirt was open.

not much left now.

refit exhaust, plumb and fit radiator, wire up fuel tank to body loom, reassemble interior

here is my exhaust. no comments on the welding please, i know it doesnt look the best. but its all by me and the later welds are better than the earlier ones. i must remember to keep flanges bolted together to slow the distortion and i was having trouble getting a small bead on the flanges. and i blew some holes that needed fixing. practice practice practice.

im going to need my new 3" front pipe/dump exit welded to the old 3" flex joint (just before the engine sump)

i also need to make up some sort of screamer for the 38mm gate (prefer this to be plumbed back eventually)

wont be for a while yet tho

well the big girl is running. but it has issues.
it idles pretty high maybe 1100rpm and it is pissing water from the top heater hose.
and no tacho.
i had the gsr throttle body but it didnt suit my evo piping. i had magna tb but the tps points the same way into the bov port. i using a sonata tb it the same as the magna but the tps is canted the same as the gsr one.
will be looking for vacumn leaks

well it goes pretty good. been around the block and back. got water leak fixed and is idling ok. pulled off isc and cleaned, set tps, silicone on throttle gasket. all fixed.

bit silly testing in the drizzle as the front walks around a bit under power. nothing like the 1.5

now to think about a rear diff

still got some wiring issues to work through:
no tacho, no indicaters, no wipers, no washers, no fan inside, aircon fan is on and little orange light on aircon is on when aircon is off. all good fun!

gasless mig looks rough and the flux will kill you eventually. but if its what you got, you gotta go with it.
most of the tigged stainless exhaust wasnt ground. and you can run over it again with the tig to smooth it down

wiper washers had blown fuse, because plug at wiper motor was wired backwards 1-2 were 2-1 and 3-4 were 4-3. this is from that wiring and plug getting changed as it was burnt. duh. NEXT

fan. not plugged in. duh. NEXT
