'no tacho, no indicaters, no wipers, no washers, no fan inside, aircon fan is on and little orange light on aircon is on when aircon is off. all good fun!'

indicators dont work until you plug hazard light switch back in. duh. NEXT!

wiper washers had blown fuse, because plug at wiper motor was wired backwards 1-2 were 2-1 and 3-4 were 4-3. this is from that wiring and plug getting changed as it was burnt. duh. NEXT

fan. not plugged in. duh. NEXT

you can get the tach signal from the ecu mate.

so have a look at your tach and look for "ign+" see if the signal from you ecu will then fire it up

Yep white wire.....

so that should go to the ign+ point on your factory tach. you may need to convert the signal but try it and see what you get.

pulled fuse for aircon fan and that stopped it.
wired rad fan into on position at relay and unplug relay when parkimg for now

still cant get tacho. i got continuity between pin 31 and the tacho pin on the body loom and it worked before, will have to think about it some more.

pulls pretty good but it is still drizzling, not as hard as the wrx but not bad. certainly laggy with the td05 wheel but strong up top. must plumb up a boost gauge tomorrow.

The jumbuck cluster is made for the distributer setup

Pretty sure Neil is using a GTi cluster, coz his cluster says GTi on it lol, which supports the twin ignition setup, also u can use M21

Yes he is

ive done the pin outs and there is only 1 wire that stays in the same spot the rest have to move. i dont know if the gsr dash will go in position and the glass fit neatly or not. one way to find out.

am thinking about the no thermo thing, i reckon that the temp sender in the top hose thing next to the turbo on the block is the right sender. at the moment i have a relay jammed into the on position/ will test shortly

FIXED

only using jummy radiator for now, so it has no sender or threads or anything.
have fixed fan and pic is here with details.
http://au.groups.yah...=20&dir=asc
IMG_0056.JPG
and here is the sensor that runs it.
http://au.groups.yah...amp;amp;dir=asc
IMG_0057.JPG
basically, under fan relay is a green/black wire, get this and run it to the fan temp sender. simple.

more later

neil has a m21 dash with gti faces.

put wide band on mine and it showed pretty lean and after adjusting timing had a lean miss. swapped injectors for some 510s and is much better now. the ecu is chipped for 510 so is strange it had 450s in it.
anyway pulls pretty good now and it has only 8psi boost.

big thanks to BMGTZ for sparing a bit of time for me this morning even though he is a bit sore from duck diving into the concrete floor earlier this week. get better soon brian! at least it will be warm next week.

choices for rear diffs include:
vc-vk commodore 1506mm wide
vl commodore 1519
vn 1564
r31 skyline ?
sigma disc brake 1400mm wide
the commodores have short and long axles, so can mix and match to suit

cant measure mine at mo, i think it is 1460mm wide

ooh, looky here
http://www.fbekholde...31b41a4f9474546
this may suit me as well
VnDiffMods.jpg
so, use vn commodore, take long axle out and replace with another short axle. shorten axle tube to suit (by 95mm)

need to carry a dozen sticks, or zimmer frame with tank in the tubes. unscrew a leg and drink from that..

awd for me.
internet tells all. need to find the offset of the tailshaft in gsr or evo, maybe book a visit back with brian. so i know where tail shaft will need to sit
measure my required width, rumor is that its 1460 face to face. but check everything twice i think.
there are various commodore diffs and widths, they have various axle lengths and different side to side.
at worst i will cut and shut a housing and mix and match axles.

brother has a sigma disc brake diff with 3.7 gears it is 1400 wide. if i need 1430 or less, i will spacer plate it to fit at the hubs
i think r31 skyline is 1465 wide (to be confirmed) so that is real close, i am sure 3.5 gears are pretty easy to find and if not i will use taller tyres on rear to make overall ratios the same. dont want lsd as i have a different plan.
with my current tyres on the rear, there is absolutely no room to be wider or narrower. they were rubbing the inner liners till i removed them and the lips are rolled as well. i really need to get smaller tyres for the back, wich means between 3.5 and 3.7 ratio diff.

height wise, brian and i have thrown a few ideas around and had a bit of a chat about wether to put diff below spring and raise mounts or above springs and lower the mounts. either way i think it will be a bit different to bens ute. i am really keen to retain the utes ability to carry its 500kg
