Fark that Cyclone Yasi looks huuuuuuuuuuuge and its a category 5 cyclone with wind speeds of up to 300kmh!!!
Here's a shout out to the boys up north of the border in northern QLD. You guys have had it pretty tough of late.
Take care, I hope you all have fled Cairns and surrounding areas by now, or if you have chosen to weather the storm or got stuck behind, I wish you all a safe and troublefree night tonight.

The cyclone wont reach land until late tonight and already its quite gusty.
When the sun peers over the horizon in the morning tomorrow lets hope all are safe and sound.

Yeah we are doing ok here.... If you dont count the sound, horizontal trees and rain, rattling windows and shit!
Here at Townsville we are only getting cat 3ish (maybe a touch of 4 soon) winds on the outskirts of the storm (its still 5-600km wide the big fucking cunt of a thing) as well as Cairns getting the same bar less rain being on the north side of the storm....

My wife (who incidently gave birth today to my second son via emergency C-section) is on hospital locked down with bubs in a separate hospital and im bunkered down with my first son and hes (pardon the pun) sleeping like a baby through all of this.
I have 2 emergency plans ready to be put into place if the house looses its roof or water tight integrity, but im not sure if it will get that bad here....
At the moment ive got 3/4 carton of rum, mexicana doritos TV internet on the PC (IE still got power atm) and laptop fully charged with wireless if needs be...I dont think im getting sleep tonight

Damn the town copped a hammering!
15% of the town WITH power (inc me lol) and most traffic lights out, street lights out, trees down in all streets. Navagating the streets is almost like roulette
Most trees in my street are down inc the park next to me....
Lost half of my driveway to the front nature strip tree as the neighbours did also.
Josh used the chainsaw this arvo to chop the 3 trees down this arvo in the neighbouring houses
Also the back neighbours trampoline is wedged in the top of their fence Teetering! The big 10FT round fuckers

Had to haul arse and move all of the mechanical parts (front and rear VR4 subframe/K frames, fuel tank and gsr rear driveline, shocks, shafts etc...) onto the truck and park it in mums BFs garage out at bushy beach Tied the double pallet to the fence and all of the rest of the shit inside...
Made a decent chuck into the carton of bundy red rum in the bar fridge and watched the Cricket and interweb hilarities without the loss of power! BONUS...

Townsville is was nothing compared to Cardwell and Tully. Poor guys are still struggling for power/comms/opening shops......

We got a taste of the cyclone here in vic... Flash flooding was insane on friday! I was on the freeway heading into the city and got caught up in it.

Poor car was in water bonnet high exiting the freeway! Lucky it got through!
