Hi i am in PErth and new to the evo scene.
Is it possible for an EVO 4 with TME engine and turbo be tune on the current stock ECu?
If possible, who can do it and where?
Cheers

Hi mate, it is possible to do so if you have an OBD cable and software.
I have seen Evo 4's running the TME turbo without a tune and run fine.
Being in WA I'm not really sure, maybe Tokyo Motorsport? http://www.tokyomotorsports.com.au/

WIll an EVO 8 AUST spec ECU be able to tune? I know mine and the evo 8 ECU both have 4 ports
Cheers

As far as I was aware, especially if the tuners in Perth are using Ecuflash, you need an Evo 5 ECU or better to enable tuning. The Evo 4 ecu isnt readily flashable ... Mike

I failed to mention that it's harder to flash Evo 4 ecu's sorry.
Yes, you can flash an Evo 8, 4 plug ecu. I'm using one...
I thought an auspec 8 ecu was 3 plug?

The best bet is to get a TME ecu but having said that I'm pretty sure a bog standard 1999+ CE sedan ecu can be re-jumpered to work and is flashable.
So you could put the standard TME flash in the CE ECU and re-tune using ecuflash from there.
I now have a CE sedan (bought it today) so can check this out if you want to go that way.
I also have a couple of TME ecu's, one not in anything ATM so I can test it for you.
With the VIII ecu you need to add a chip and change a number of periphery setting as it is a two oxy sensor ecu.
Def not the way to go. Got one of those to but not likely to use it now.

The ADM VIII ecu is a four connector ecu and the VIII MR ecu is three connector one.
The four connector ecu's have two rows of pins whereas the three plug ecu's have three rows of pins.

TME uses a different turbo, injectors, cams and fuel pump to a IV best getting a V or VI ecu and tuning it that way
