Hello all,

I'm looking for a set of replacement front ball joints for my Evo 3 and I'm having a big issue trying to find these parts. A lot of stores and online companies have the arm for sale, but I only need the ball joints. I've signed up to Evo 123 in hope to get answers as well but nothing was concrete so now I'm here. I'll be coming into the US sometime this month and would like to get a manufactue number or cross reference for another.

I heard Volvo sheared so suspension parts with mitsubishi and there also the mirage, galant, colt, and later lancer. Help me out guys and ladies if there are.

Thanks in advance

Sumo (Gabe)

Dougmo on these forums made his own adjustable rose joints for his evo 2 race car. I would suspect this would be a good alternative to getting replacement OEM ones.
Maybe speak to him or check out his build thread for more information.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Hi Gabe
I think Meek sells them for around $27ish (aftermarket). U need to get some1 like Techsport to press it in for u.
I intended to do this, but haven't got round doing it yet.
I don't think u can buy them genuine by themselves-have to get the whole control arm.

Let me know how u go fitting them in as I'm about to do it soon.

Thanks

Good news: Wickid site thanks lol.
Bad news: Didn't find any ball joints under the Evo 1-3 section.

I'm in the Cayman Islands so I'll just take them to the machine shop and have them press it in.

they don't list it on their website, but definitely they have it. Just email them or give them a call.
I know they have it as I called up before.

Well guys I got a product number on a ball joint. I'll go to the local parts store and see if they have it after I press mine out to check if there the same height and width, if they dont have it I'll order it when I go to the US. When the car goes up on the jacks (sometime this weekend or early next week) I'll start my Bushing build thread :-)

Part#: K9455
Manufacture: MOOG

Its for a 99-01 Hyundai Accent

Yea guys...this part doesn't work...the c-clip height is too low compared with the Evo 3's ball joint.

There's also another number that doesn't work...I'll update later.

So for right now I can comfortably say I'm screwwwwwwd :-(

i believe the EVO 2 and 3 needed the whole control arm replaced, since the ball joints are not replaceable by any other means...
BUT i could be wrong..

what would be recommend for a replacement solenoid? I have a jaycar IEBC setup in mine but can't get it to control boost on the stock solenoid, one thread I read on these controllers suggested getting an XR6 turbo solenoid from ford for 40 odd bucks as they are apparantly a quality part, but not sure if something aftermarket would be better

Ok guys....ball joints are in...just need to put in my other bushings and take pics. So far I only have a pic of the old vs new ball joint after putting it on the lathe. Only thing is...the guy messed up a bit and made the grove to big...so I will have to use to c-clpis.
