Just a quicky, are all VR4 motors 6 bolt? can you bolt a 4G64 100mm 6 bolt stroker crank straight in (i realise rods pistons etc will be needed) more interested in weather sump needs to be modified or bearing channels etc, im sure if i looked i could find out but im pushed for time and pretty sure someone on here will know off the top of there head.

Cheers

all 6 bolt
crank goes in with stock rods and pistons with a higher pin
big end and main bearings are the same and it clears the sump but I think
a little bit of clearancing is required on the edge of the block with 6 bolt engines?

have you bought it already?

you can use nimbus/L300 6 bolt cranks, pick them up locally for $200-300

then buy the rods and pistons seperate

not a bad deal, but I think you may be able to save some cash,

http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

then a crank locally, bearings etc....

up to you though mate

yeah it can be tricky mate, just hunt about, cp pistons are good, as are JE.

on thing to think about is you will most likely have to have either crank machined, and if
so you can source bearings locally to suit.

can be a tricky and expensive process, but 2.3s are good B)

You'll only know for sure once you tighten down the caps and spin the crank by hand. Different rod manufacturers have different amounts of meat in the big ends and you'll need to remove whatever you have to in order to provde sufficient clearance to the caps ;)

Eagle rods WILL foul with the block and 'suitcase handles' in a 6-bolt setup.

Ditto.... ^^ Eagle rods with a stroker crank definitely foul and the girdles need a couple of millimetres remove to clear the conrod....
The sump needs a small amount of clearancing as well. Its not really a big deal for an engine builder to deal with.
