building a forged 4g93T .....it begins now

{not going to use the overheated engine}.......gee these will last forever with no water/coolant
the build will use the following parts.
wiseco pistons/rings .5mm os and K1 technology rods sourced from http://www.euroexportinc.com cost was around 950usd for both delivered and that was when the aussie dollar was 93 cents
Toyota 3sgte ARP head studs.....ebay
arp main studs are the same as a 7 bolt 4g63.....found that out by accident.....ebay
rotating assembly balanced....but didn't really need it....because they whole thing was 99.9% spot on!!....fluke
the crank is on std bearing size and just needed a polish. will use acl race main and big end bearings...these seem to be thicker than kings for the same engine and size..... got these at nason parts
new water pump ...nason
new timing belt and tensioners/idler...... nason
need to source a new oil pump.....any suggestions other than genuine? looking for increased oil volume and a quality part not a cheap price.
head gasket is a permaseal standard mls from a CE lancer sohc 4g93...these need one water hole drilled to match the std gasket. sourced from nason parts 85.00
the block has had all the usual machining...decked...align bored etc
nasons also have the late gen lifters....6 bux each!...so full set going in.
head will stay standard but have a recon.....it may need a shave...if it does then compression could be a bit high with these pistons at 9:1...then the head gasket being a tiny bit thinner than a previously used/ compressed one if that is an issue I will get a bare head ...again from nasons 335.oo
no I dont work for nasons btw
I have a set of strange jap cams here....they look like an OE set judging from the casting marks... and haven't been reground but the last engine they were in had a lope at idle so i will chuck them in and see what they.
I will chuck up a few pictures as time permits
turbo....stock but may be changed to a 14b.....no it doesnt need a big laggy turbo to drive to and from work

As for the oil pump there are the SOHC ones from the states that look the same, but nobody has had the balls to actually order and fit one to see.
I mean I couldnt see the difference between the DOHC and SOHC ones.
Sounds like a mean build!
BTW... does anyone else have a sore ass??

There are proper permaseal and genuine HG's for the DOHC heads for around the same price already out there without modifying the SOHC ones.

I looked at the one on ebay and thought it looked the same....but no balls here either I will probably get a genuine one...spent to much to scrimp on an oil pump

I used a 4G92 MIVEC headgasket in my build. The stock oil pumps are pretty good. I wouldn't even bother replacing it unless it was badly worn. I'd suggest eliminating the oil squirters to provide better pressure for the mains, as your pistons are forged there will be enough oil thrown off the crank to cool them.

screw that, you dont wanna be slower than 3zercrowd on a stock motor. forged bottom end go a td06 20g. or a ball bearing equivelent. you would be lookin at 650cc or bigger injectors though.
Oil lights are like oven alarms......they tell you when it's cooked
Green GSR.......sold VR4 AMG........sold Grey GSR still under the house.

thanks for the info...but the turbo isnt going to be changed just yet. It just gets driven to work by my daughter. .....so why forge the engine you ask? well, because it isnt much difference in cost to do so....probably only 500.00 over buying just stock pistons
when it does get changed ...she will be happy with a 14b....or 16g and about 18 pound

Here are some pics of the "custom" pistons I had made.... same same
Note: dish depth was increased by 1.5mm, lowering the compression ratio to 8.0 to 1

i see yours also has four valve pockets too.....only having two worries me a bit right now. but time will tell when I check the clearance.
