I'm looking for some pics of the Evo 3 bracing for engine bay and rear behind the seats

There are the ones behind the guards
The ones behind the rear seats in a v shape I think
Are there any I'm forgetting that don't come on a coupe/sedan

Pics on or off the car would be helpful if possible. I remember seeing the guard ones in for sale thread recently but can't find it now

Gianni, it is very difficult to remove all the bracing from an EVO engine bay and try to retrofit it onto another car. You're best best would be to buy a strut brace, a pair of Ultra Racing fender braces, some good engine mounts (not OEM rubber ones that jolt the engine back and forth when they break) and stay away from very stiff suspension  If FWD, minimise your hopping by fitting some anti-lift/castor bushes up front too.

:) like always. Legend. I read yolks ago about someone buying them off someone's halfcut. So thought they would be bolt on like strut braces .:)

I think MEEK might sell the engine bay braces which are welded from the strut tower to the firewall.

The rear braces which go from the rear strut towers to the rear seat back sheetmetal are harder to come by and very difficult to weld in. They're a prick of a thing to remove from a 1/2 cut too - you virtually need to cut the shell apart to get to them and then pick out the many many spot welds which hold it in.

The V-Brace which goes over the rear seat opening - I don't know where you'll get one of those unless somebody is discarding a rear 1/2 cut which still has it. You could get one fabricated - for a skilled tradie it probably wouldn't be a very difficult job.

There's also the extra webbing which is welded from the crossmember support to the underbody as well.

YeH. That's what I was thinking. Get a tradie to make it. Coz they would be a pain to come by. Pics would be fantastic if possible.

What's this meshing u speak of :P

Strut braces are a definate. But how much power do u need before other braces are necessary. I'll have just over 200kw in a coupe

realy depends on what you want to do with it extra bracing is always a beter idea as the chasis can flex with any amount of power in there under certain conditions

Yep, I have included a set of these as part of my suspension in the AWD coupe and there are no signs of firewall cracking (yet).

Na Shayne I didnt. Its a massive pain to remove the braces from an Evo without damaging them. The gif animation above is the main reason why the firewall cracks in CC Lancers and GSR's running stiff suspension.
Guys with FWD's experience front wheel hop a lot more severe than the AWD guys do and thats why I reckon they are prone to crack a lot easier. Fender braces like the Ultra Racing ones should be fitted to all CC Lancers IMO.
Subaru's have fender braces fitted OEM but they are only a single bar across (see pic). Still, anything to strengthen on the area is a lot better than nothing.
