RVR suspension, handling and equipment
#1

I want to start a thread on RVR suspension, handling and equipment used because we all use different gear for our rides and I want see what is best for comfort/performance...
Personally, im not too happy with my suspension, this is what I have:
Buddyclub adjustable coilovers at the front
Pedders 'low' struts and springs at the rear
Rear strut brace in the boot
Ford falcon rear bump stops 'low'
18x8 inch wheels
The car still has terrible understeer, unless im fanging it in second gear, then I'll get some decent oversteer/drifting happening.
What have you guys got? What's working for you and what's not?

Tein struts and Pedders low springs rear
Rear strut brace in the boot
Pedders rear bump stops
17x8 inch wheels

What do you mean by 'crabwalks'?Tein coilovers at the front
Tein struts and Pedders low springs rear
Rear strut brace in the boot
Pedders rear bump stops
17x8 inch wheels
crab walks abit and it's a hard ride but feels 100% better then stock
Yeah mines definitely better than standard, but theres room for improvement.
I want to get some new inserts for my coilovers and different bump stops... Plus I'm looking at getting some custom sway bars made up to help this understeer.
Does yours also understeer around roundabouts Steve?

I don't get much understeer around roundabouts and there are alot around here.
custom sway bars sound good let me know how you go with that.

Cheers... Unfortunately I'm pretty sure we have to get ours custom madeget a PHat rear swaybar in there and some caster on the front will do wonders for the turn in.

Originaly I was runing reset RVR springs, but they were too soft, so I got some VR4 KYB Dirtra springs
& had them reset lower. My RVR leans, but doesn't understeer in the wet or dry !
My VR4 steers into corners better at slower speeds, but the RVR corners better at higher speeds.
The VR4 would be in the gutter if it tried catching the RVR through corners. No BS !
PS: I hate the seating posi in the RVR when hard braking even with my Nissan GT Recaro seat.
Cheers !

My front suspension was around $1000. Koni adjustable inserts are inside my standard RVR struts.

I don't know if your RVR is sitting at these heights.
Roundabouts in the wet are no probs. I can oversteer it if I play silly buggers.
My tyre presures are 36psi x3 & 38psi on my front left.
I've been thinking of raising the inner arm on the rear & rewelding it to remove some camber.
My rear runs some toe in & I run my rear 245s reversed so the harder rubber is inside. Wears good !
Cheers !

Thanks man... I'll look into it. Why such high tyre pressure? I run 32psi on all 4's. 18inchTBOWGN, My heights from the ground to my wheel arches are Front - 710mm, Rear - 670mm

Same deal with swaybars, does it need to be suited for the RVR only, or can you run VR4/Evo gear ?
Thanks
Pete.

Hey mate, it's mostly all specific for RVR or N23W or N23WRJust a quick OT about suspension setups, do the N23W run their own, or can you buy vr4 or evo gear and it will bolt on ? I'm wanting to go some coilovers later on just so i can lower it a little and stiffen the ride.

Yahoo Japan
Do you have any specifics on these sway bars?
Also, what diameter sway bars do you guys have on your RVR's? What about springs?
For reference, AWD has sway bar that is .79" (20mm) and rear springs are .57" (14.5mm) wire.
One easy upgrade option is the 7 passenger wagon springs, which are .612 (15.5mm) and about 20% stiffer (before cutting)
My plan or reducing understeer includes: stiffering-up the rear end and adding camber/caster plates in the front.
