Hey Guys.
I'm new to this forum as i used to own a 02 Subaru WRX, and since then sold the car and have recently imported over my new pride and joy Evolution 8 MR from japan.
To give you guys some details of my past car.
The standard WRX gearbox is pretty bad, and i wanted to push more power out of the car then it could handle.
Long story short after a gearbox rebuild i still had issues, so i sold it.

I decided the EVO was something new and could deliver much more out of a package and performance than what the subaru could.
So i paid a broker to find a specific car and the colour i wanted.

And here it is...

List of mods so far.

Full Damd Bodykit
Vielside Spoiler
19 Inch Rays Volk Racing GT-V Rims
Xennon Low beam HID lights
HKS Turbo Timer

I have a lot of plans for this car, but having caught by the EPA several times with my WRX, this build will be stealth.
Current plans for the car are.

New stereo
Apexi Noir 3 inch exhaust or HKS High Power Silent
HKS Type R Intercooler
Reflash
GFB Deceptor Pro BOV

So i'm new to this forum, hope you guys like the car, and will be asking you a lot of questions as the build starts.

Enjoy!!!

Not a fan of the bodykit, that wing is deplorable IMO. Good choice on car, but I'm just not one for kitted Evo's I think they should be left as they were aesthetically designed.
EDIT: Maybe that wing is deigned for a widebody kit?

My first thought of the wing was maybe it was a bit big. but when i thought about what it would look like with a standard wing, it didn't suite the bodykit.
Also anything vielside in my books is good. But in saying that i dont like the vielside bodykit that is made for the EVO 8, to much like a GT car.

Ohh wait it is a GT kit... Doah

It is actually good to see something out of the norm. Imo the kit sits nicely but the wing is a little to exaggerated for my liking.

Which area are you from?

exactly every one has their own taste in cars so don't let our comment sway you on your opinion of the car it's quite clean and i'd almost give up my left nut to own it.

No doubt everyone has there own tastes.
For me im a huge fan of aftermarket parts, taking something that's good and making better.
A prime example of this is the RX7 that was featured in Tokyo Drift.
I didn't think march of the stock look of the RX7 but with the Fortune bodykit from Vielside.
Very very Sexy..

Agreed, everyone has their own tastes.

However, you say in your post you want this car to be "stealth" compared to your last car?

No way an Evo 8 with 19" Chrome like rims, aftermarket bodykit and an ENOURMOUS rear wing is going to fly under the Police radar.

Maybe a rethink is in order if your goal is to avoid police attention? Just my opinion, nothing personal intended. B)

I can agree with you about the flashiness of the bodykit at the wing, which is actually legal height and the wing does not exceed the size of the body.

The stealth side of the car, is the performance mods.

Example, the exhaust im looking for needs to be sitting on 90db or bellow but yet still have good flow.
The BOV wont be atmospheric.

My past car the REX, had a 3 inch exhaust system with a cannon.
The idle was 98db and it rev'd over 105db, also with a atmospheric BOV.
Even with the old car being loud as i did not get pulled over.
But new Hoon laws give the cops the power to chuck a EPA on a car without even having to pull you over.
In the good old days they used to have to test for the noise pollution and check the engine bay for the illegal mods..

Thanks for the information khubner1 i've been struggling working out what exhaust to get as they all seem to have 3 inch systems with resonators.
But some have cannon like mufflers with sound deadening foil inside. Like the HKS High Power Silent and the Fujitsubo RM-01A.
I would love to see some dyno readings with the various exhaust systems to do a performance gain comparison for which one gives the best power over noise.
