Just a technical issue I have found with my car. Ive raised the issue on another forum but havent identified the direct cause. In the higher end of 4th gear from roughly 4200rpm and above the boost feels like its coming in the rpm range in waves. Off and on type of thing with the foot flat. Im thinking its time for a boost leak check, get some form of tune into it?
Thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated
Cheers

Thanks for the replies guys. Its got a boost controller in there but running factory boost atm. Im beginning to think that its the stock tune also. See how it fairs with 18psi put through it when I do the remap
BAZENG: only in the high revs, low revs through the boost curve is beautiful for a stocker, nice and smooth

Do a boost leak check otherwise throw it on a dyno should find the prob straight away

if its only in higer gears at higher revs on a stock boost setting its probably the controller trying to
keep the boost under control. if you want to run stock boost for the moment your better to have it switched off.
Maybe try it with the controller off and see if it still does it.(in a controlled legal environment of course)

Ignition misfire? Does it feel severe or just noticeable?

Its not severe as such. Noticable yes but nothing crazy. The engine has iridium tipped after market sparkies also

Plug gaps? Heat range?

Plug gaps? Heat range?
Havent checked the gaps, think the old boys got the spark plug gap measuring tool. Might check that out too. What's an ideal gap for the plugs?

Ended up being the stock Turbo Actuator was blown and leaking. All good now, replaced with a 1.5 bar actuator complete with the metal cap featured on the VIII MR & 9 actuator asourced from GT pumps
