dont want a 4g64, want the g4cs from older than 1990 sonata. 2.4l single cam suit rebuild. block only is fine and prefered
is one on ebay at moment i know. was hoping for cheaper than that one.

where are the aussie hyundai forums?

wreckers, gumtree, quokka, half way through engine rebuilders. seems that they are old now and most have gone to scrap metal.
i knew this car crusher would come back and bite us. got mates in the country looking at the tips too.
another thing is that if yo find anything at the scrap metal yard you cant buy off them as they dont have the correct license or something

I got mine. Came from queensland. Its unassembled at the engine builders.
Bazzas has changed hands twice since his post.

Good luck finding one. You know there is no boss for the knock sensor, right

So there is no casting at all? I know the non turbo motors don't have them but can be drilled and tapped.. I think.. from memory.
What do you plan to do with your knock sensor?

Weld a nut on.... it has a bulge, but not enough to drill and tap.

No need for knock detection for the ecu.

For tuning we used knock ears off the head.

Mo, the wreckers here are literally 500m up the road. It is Gympie after all, so there is a likelyhood of older Hyundai's in stock, lol...

So say i was to come across one of these gc4s thingamajiggys what are they worth block,crank ,rods and pistons? I know your only going to use the block and crank but just say IF i had a gc4s i would not want to disassemble.
