No, I paid and bought through a hose joint. And picked it up on their behalf...

Luckily they went out of their way for me. Long weekend favour..

Ok, so it's registered and road legal!

Just added a few things. A manifold blanket and thermo fan to the trans cooler..

As it gets hot the trans goes into limp mode. So hopefully a fan will fix it..

Also got a smart 100 forced four shift box and hand controller.
Time for some tuning shortly!

Haha i bet it does. Didnt know myself until i saw your thred for the first time

I have to explain to so many I'm thinking I need a sticker to say Google it...

Update..
Fuel pressure was going up and down... Not sure why so I inspected the fpr for debris but all good. So I changed the fuel pump. Thankfully this fixed it. A bit of rust probably from the E10 and 2 years sitting.

Also adjust my active exhuast valve. No more rattles (loose bracket).

Overall driving better now.

Next. Getting ready for the forced four shift box install (smart 100, smart module and hand controller with tcu switchover.)

Then on the dyno for some power runs.

Getting into the shift module install.

Weather is good in Melbourne so time to get cracking.

Will finish off the intake manifold solenoid, dash cluster and trans cooler fan wiring while the tools are out.

Using 1 solenoid for the eco pwr switch.
Eco = TCU. Pwr = shift box (manual)
The relay as at normally closed with feed gnd to the factory tcu. The 12v on will switch power to the shift box and turn off the tcu.

I'll rewire the dash lights also to reflect this switch and not the factory tcu pwr \ eco switch.

Very cool. Wish i had the know-how for this kind of stuff.

Best way to learn... Get some wiring tools and get right into it.

As long as you understand the fundamentals of electricity you will be fine..

I started with turbo timers, car audio. Then moved onto alarms, central locking and eventually ecu's and now transmission wiring. With that then comes the understanding of how ecu's work and allows you to then tune.

My hobby has actually taught me many things I use in my daily life....

So today, I got it 95 percent done..
It shifts HARD! Ive got a relay that allows me to select stock TCU or shift box (factory eco/pwr switch).

I've also got a factory tcu pressure control map or autronic ecu pressure control map toggle switch.. The factory tcu flares quite a bit especially from 2nd to 4rd at low tps.. So I want to up the shift pressure using the autronic to map it out..

The only things left..
Dash cluster led conversion and wire up remains wires for t he gear display and also the analog outputs from the shift box to the ecu to tell it what gear it is in. 1v is gear 1. 2v is gear 2. 3v is 3. 4v is 4. I can then tune the ecu to be gear dependant with boost (less at low gears).

Overall. Progressing well.

Looking for a paddle shift to fit onto the galant... Anybody have any suggestions?

Manual to auto cluster conversion. Not all globes were getting earthed.
Some mods needed to make an Auto cluster work.

1dfcbf0147f61a3a519594fc3a78198b.jpg

These include adding an earth wire, an eco/ pwr and overdrive wire. Plus the gear selections (9 pins).

These all need to go to the tcu or shifter mechanism area.

I'm planning to change the globes go LEDs also. Just so I don't need to change them ever again.

Wired in the overdrive light and eco / pwr button light..

Eco / pwr will represent tcu (eco) and pwr (shift box).

The gear lights now working also. The wiring of these additional lights were a pain. Had to pull the cluster apart to figure out the pinouts.

Added overdrive button wire to factory plug.

Added eco/pwr wire to factory plug.

All done.

Just ordered a heap of LEDs. Going to change the bulbs once and once only.

Proper automotive dimmable LEDs. Let's hope they look ok. I just want the stock look but everlasting!

A little more to go. Just gear indicator switch to ecu, eco pwr switch to ecu and the trim can be pit back in.

Econo light = TCU shifted.
Power light = shift box (manually shifted).

Led converted dash.

Attended a dyno day on Sunday.

Had some fun. Tested the road tune on the dyno.

Had ignition breakdown coming onto boost. I've since gapped the plugs down from. 8mm to. 6mm.

Miss now gone. Timing back in....

Magna box held up ok.

As far as driving goes...what have you found more enjoyable? And what better suits the cars setup Manual or auto?

The auto has 2 modes. Auto shifting via tcu (comfort mode, variable pressure, timed shifts). Manual shifting via buttons (full pressure, quick shifts).

I would not go back to manual honestly. Makes the car so much more comfortable to drive and shifts faster than a manual syncro box could shift.

Plus the auto is good fun brake boosting. Roll, open the throttle and hold brakes, build boost, let go of brakes and off it goes!
