Firstly what parts did u use from the half cut?? did u change the loom that runs under the drivers side front guard and accross the radiator support/head lights etc??

The GSR thermo fans are controlled by the radiator thermo switch off that loom, whilst the EVO thermo fan is controlled by the ECU off the engine loom

Sounds like you didnt change all the looms from the EVO to the GSR. If you used all of them it should run like OEM obviously.
There's a tech sticky in this section with the EVO ECU colour codes in it to help identify the radiator fan trigger.

I did sine custom work with my Evo loom onto a glxi loom. Will be testing tomorrow :)

If someone can confirm that gsr and glxi engine bay looms are similar then follow what I did

There is a plug near gearbox that joins engine loom to bay loom. I cut the Evo side off and attached glxi plug. Pretty much there is a yellow wire on the Evo side and two on the glxi side. Solder ur yellow Evo to yellow and grey/Dot on glxi.

The rest of the colors match up except for the green on the Evo side and the blue and the plain yellow on glxi side. Short story is green is soldered to blue. Long story is the blue runs to ur fans. And the green runs to ur thermo fan switch on ur ecu so bingo.

Now the only left over is a yellow with nothing to match to. I assume it has something to do with aircon. I'd be happy if someone else can clear that last wire up :)

This is my work so far :)

Hey Gianni,

From memory one of those yellow wires is for Power Steering Pump and the other is for Oil Pressure switch. I just cant remember which is which as its been a while.

Remember to post up if your mods to the EVO loom work. Im part way through pulling the Auto loom apart from a GLXi loom so i can graft it onto a GSR or Evo loom. Would be good to see if your mods to the EVO loom do work.

Yeah. The yellow one I've soldered is powersteering. Haven't yet found the other end of the left over wire :P

If you were using a GSR loom, the other yellow wire is in the GSR engine loom and lives near the thermostat housing, but because you're using an EVO loom, im pretty sure it wont have the "other end" in it as the oil pressure sender is on the other side of the engine.. If i were you, id just extend that left over yellow wire (being the oil press sensor wire) and run it under the battery and around the radiator then back up to the oil press sender near the Oil filter on the 63t.

thanks for the info lads ,

its been a while seince i did the con vert but i used evo engine loom and think i used the gsr loom that runs under driver side gaurd due to havin an alarm system in stalled an it started gettin a bit out of hand. i gotbulk time off now so im having another stab at the wiring.

i did run into probs that glxi lad had with the differnce between looms but that info is big help thank an im pretty sure glxi and gsr aus spec are the same looms.

i wanna track down a gen evo3 jdm interior harness so i can run climate controll too cus i want as close as i can get to gen jdm evo 3

any info i gather i will post to assist other users.

for the love of mitsubishi :)
