these are triple gauges for evo 3, do these gauges just plug in? do they run of the ecu or require their own senders and everything?

where abouts is the plug they plug into?

Pretty sure that 2 of them need senders...boost gauge just runs off a vac line as you would know already...

^+1 they are usually in a one piece single din holder which fits in under the wireless(radio)!

yea, just seemed like a heap of wires.the ones in jamo pics looks like a more reasonable amount of wiring.
i dont think its as complicated as i made out. ie boost is a vacuum hose, volts is just a wire, and temp may have seperate sender or run off ecu.

just the mass of wires put me off for a minute

and I have two sets of these guages....which I took out to the guys at aisat

no joy in finding an alternative

what does a water temp sender make it do? it would prob make the gauge read high.
yea i reckon it would. ie it would read 150 when oil is only 110.
what does the factory oil temp sender look like?

surely if this works it would read a bit high, like about 20%.

this one would be better. you need one that tops out at 360f, this one would make the gauge read only 10% high. as long as it is consistent it would be ok.

you could put a resister in it to make it right, but then it would never get higher than 140ish

Is the oil temp sender in the sump plug?

If so I have one which just needs to be rewired that I would get rid of along with my triple set of gauges I no longer want.

Anyone have any luck with an oil temp sender?
As in a non oem replacement that suits?

Or most importantly, can anyone confirm where the Ralliart gauges actually mount/fit the oil temp sender?

the sender replaces the sump plug.....as to an alternative part for OE. I havent found one.

That is an obvious place yes - but still want some clarification. Oil temp would be better read from 'standing' oil rather than when it is under pressure.
The gauges were manufactured by Lamco. Lamco do gauges for other manufactures. I was looking at the subaru gauges, they look awfully familiar (pictured below). Oil temp sender is located in the sump plug.

Shit out of luck with the Subaru option, they use an M20 sump plug, ours is M14.

Drill and tap, tig in a new one, or maybe cut the subi one down to m14.

Actually not a bad idea, tig in a new thread and then it doesn't need to be in the bottom and never needs to be taken out... put it an inch or so up the side out of harms way.

I still have my sump plug I am not using but you need to take the triple gauge set with it.
