Sees to be one of the problems with a 2.3 verses a 2L, some people say if you run the piston to wall clearance too loose the piston can rock too much so it rubs on the skirt, i seen a few pictures or people selling stroker pistons second hand and you can see the extra wear on the skirt through the coating but some of them the coating is only for run int anyway, still you can see its rubbing there more. But too tight as you can crack the block.
This is about the only thing holding me back from a 100mm 4g63 stroker, i don't want to have to pull it down to rebuild it like a race engine.

you cant do a long rod in a 4g63 block
you can in a 64 block though
oh yea, my bad. go the 64 block, but the pistons/rods are a bit dearer
i thought i might have seen extraextra pin height pistons for a longrod 63, something about buttons in the gudgeon pin holes and oil rings down quite low? cant quite remember.....
the evo9 pistons apparently have the 1mm offset pins, this should help minimise the scuffing. brian has some je pistons in his 63 and he says they have no offset.
i believe the gudgeon pin offset is essential for just about any engine other than a pure race motor.

so they will rev, but yes the torque makes up for the lak of 8k+
just play with gear ratios and you wont need that crazy redline
there is a small amount of scuffing on the piston skirt but nothing to bad.
i'm also running 264/272 kelfords and mine has been taken out to a fraction under 2.4 (2.397)
If you want to talk hi reving robevo i think can rev to 10k on a 2.4 and thats the street car.- correct me if I'm wrong there Rob

The torque you can get out of a stroker or 2.4 is mad... but unfortunately our tranny's can strip 4th gear under load even with a solid 2 litre in place.
330kw atw @ 28psi 98 pump fuel.
372kw atw @ 28psi E85 Flexfuel.
