Hey Guys,

New to this forum and was reffered by the original creator of the place.

Back in 2007 I went on a journey that consisted of an Evo 6 that was forced to remain stock and then be sold because of a commitment to a house, recently I decided that I wanted another one so I hunted around for something good, eventually stumbled across the Evo 5 that is in my possession today.

Specs:

1998 Evo 5
Silver in colour
81,000KMS
Fresh exedy clutch
Blitz Nur Spec exhaust
Tein Coilovers
Carbon bonnet
Zumba 18x9.5 wheels with 265's
Ebay blacked out headlights
HID lowbeams and spotties
Pioneer DVD player and JBL sound system
Some underbody bracing

Ok so initial impressions, the car is only running stock boost so its not much quicker than your average evo but it is still fairly damn quick (I had almost forgotten how quick these were), handles and stops really well (dher)

Cosmetically it is not to my tastes though so im looking to change a few things, firstly I want to get rid of the carbon bonnet (if anyone wants to throw a stock one + cash my way id happily accept an offer), its not that the bonnet is not good quality, it is a fantastic quality item that came on the car from Japan, I have just never liked the look of carbon bonnets. The headlights have to go as well, I dont think they suit the silver colour of the car at all so if someone wants them as a trade for stockers id happily do a deal.

The wheels are not very nice either so I have ordered a set of XXR 527's to go onto the car

Once I sort those things out and get rid of the remaining stickers on the car (yuck) ill be happy with how it looks on the outside.

The 527 is 17 and 18" only. The 522 is 19x10 but I don't really love the look of them..

most of the XXR range looks pretty average apart from a couple of exceptions

swapped the headlights out for some OEM evo 6 ones today with the clear corner lights...completely changes the look of the front end IMO

also did some guard trimming and lowered the back...still rubs a bit so im going to have to bring it up 5mm tomorrow

Very tough 5 there with the new XXR's on. How wide are they, are they 8.75 or 9.75...?

The 8.75's look crap in comparison. No where near as much concave. These are the 9.75's

I wish I had a little more clearance but I will need to raise the car up. Or maybe get some camber added.
